Hey Team,I had a good time exploring the app. Things seem to be arranged in good places, and the UI makes general sense. I also appreciate that you have opted for the single-purchase business model. The widget thing is a great idea as it means i can start up your app from the lockscreen, straight into the lens I would like to use. However, the app is missing two key elements which I wish it had, and so keeps me from making it be my go-to app.- The first: true single handed operation in landscape mode whilst in full manual. I like to hold my 12pro like I hold my A7 - left hand for support, right hand to control the camera. This is really good for stability. However when doing so, adjusting either the iso or the shutter speed is quite a stretch as the shutter slider is on the viewfinder, way off the “control center”. Forget about adjusting ISO, that’s way on the other side of the screen. There is so much wasted space on that control center, would it not be possible to make better use of that? I can think of a million ways it can be done better. - The second: why can’t i shoot photos with exposures longer than one second? I know avfoundation doesn’t support that, but this is what night mode is for.- a fellow app developer.
R kopiec, thank you for your insightful review! You bring up a good point regarding ISO and Exposure Duration Screen. Controlling ISO and exposure duration manually with both hands indeed creates a much better experience. However, you still can control both aspects single-handedly. The touch/drag area for each is only separated in the middle of the screen. Even with a Plus/Max phone, it is still comfortably possible. We keep the control center as a common area while each manual control aspect appears on the preview screen so they can disappear when not needed.Regarding long exposure, the amazing Night Mode from the native camera app is not available for developers (yet). Any exposure longer than 1 second requires the fusion of multiple frames, which reduces the image quality greatly. We are currently testing on that area to put out something new and improved compared to other camera apps.
