The service is good value for money. You get to read as many comics as you want for the cost of one hardcover if you get the annual membership. The app layout though is terrible, it isn’t clear what comics have recently been added, it’s hard to find a particular comic unless you know exactly what you are looking for and there are also smaller issues like how the app doesn’t always save where read up to on a comic or some pages won’t load and you have to close and re-enter. I also don’t like the way the Ultra subscription works. Keeping new comics exclusive to it I am fine with but locking older series behind the Ultra subscription and also the collected editions is something that should be in the regular subscription.
Great content. So-so reader and search

So glad this is finally available. I love Marvel Unlimited and it is great to have something similar for all the great DC content and there is loads of great content including Black Label and some Vertigo. Some more Vertigo titles would be great, please. The reader needs work. I can’t read in landscape on my phone and I can’t browse in landscape on my iPad. Reading comics is a bit slow and the experience isn’t as smooth as on the Marvel app. Also the search and browse don’t always show full lists. If there are lots of issues of title you don’t see them all and if you search it doesn’t always show what you expect for instance characters or part of a title. But it took Marvel a number of updates to improve similar things so I am looking forward to enjoying the content and the experience grow and improve.UPDATE: Yes there have been improvements but the reader and interface are still confused. Downloads often don’t work. The biggest disappointment now though is Ultra. I was really excited and subscribed but it just doesn’t work and support have told be they’ve escalated but 2 days and no response. It all feels a bit half-hearted when compared with Marvel. Please give Infinite some love. The comics deserve it.
Terrible user experience
Spooky Ghost Dad
Originally I gave the DCUI app a good review. And then I started to use it more. I love DC way more than Marvel but I’ve got to say the Marvel Unlimited app is a much nicer experience. 1) The DC app crashes on me (using iPad Pro and IPhone 13) 50% of the time. It’s a nightmare to get back to the comic you were reading as well because it doesn’t even show up in an intuitive “continue reading” section. So you have to search for it again.2) When revisiting a series you have been reading it seems impossible to work out where you left off without clicking on every issue and looking to say if it says “resume” or “read”. And “resume” is what shows up for every comic you have finished and are at the last page. “Read” shows if you’ve never read it. It’s really sloppy UI 3) The app only seems to let me download a small number of comics and then they get stuck in my download folder with no way of deleting them. 4) The option to make your own folders is nice and should remain but again it’s impossible to know where you are up to with a series. 5) The app does not let you read in landscape on iPhone at the moment. Rendering the app totally useless. Even with the biggest iPhone you still need to be able to use panel by panel option in landscape, unless you carry a microscope with you. These are just a few bugs that make the overall user experience feel almost amateur compared to the Marvel App. But most of all they make the experience not really worth the money at the moment. I do buy physical single issues of my comics each week and I’ll stick with that for now.
Incredible value, great content

What’s gone from a 5 star review has dropped to 2 stars because there is seemingly no support available for the app. I’ve been locked out of my profile and can’t reset my password. Who do I ask for help? Apparently there is NO customer support for this app so I’m just stuck. Such a shame as otherwise I love this app and the service. The sheer amount of quality content on this platform is worth 5 stars alone, but if you buy the 12 month subscription it works out about £3.99 a month which is INSANE value for money. I will say that the app is not perfect (things are a little awkward to browse) but the good outweighs the bad. The panel view works perfectly (just like Comixology) and it’s nice that you don’t have to actually download the comics to read them (although occasionally there’s a delay as a page loads). Overall this is essential for comic fans.
