SkySafari 5 pro was amazing and fascinating. This new version adds better star graphics for awesome stunning look compared to the previous version. Worth every penny. The Pro version is suitable for intermediate to advance amatuer astronomers alike. Plus version is for amateur astronomers at beginners level.There is also an opportunity for in-app purchases which is a must if your serious about learning the night sky or a geek/nerd in Astronomy (like me). It's add more stars and magnitude to the program.Very accurate information and fun to use. Update: Also adds lots more stars than Pro 5 with the in-app purchases. The downside it don't show the exoplanets discovered, which is available on a free App/program on Mac from NASA called ‘NASA’s Eyes’.
Dont expect iOS functions like StarSense Alignment

Very dissapointed with the MacOS implemenation of SkySafari. After I bought a new Ceestron AVX mount with 8" Edge HD, Celestron wifi and StarSense, I immediately purchased SkySafari Pro for MacOS and iOS. First night out with iOS all worked beautifully. Second nioght I thought I'd try operating from indoors at my iMac.....no StartSense alignemnt in sight. After browsing the forum I find it's not implemented in MacOS. I'm astonished why my phone can do it but the mor power Mac cannot. Strikes me as lazy programming, and great shame for anyone interested in creating a wireless observation platform from their desktop computer.

Update. A quick word to thank the support team with a recent problem caused by an update affecting older Macbook Pro and OSX. The problem was quickly resolved and is now running as good as ever.Many thanks to all involved at providing such good customer support.Yet again SkySafari has excelled itself. The new added features are great and I especially like the interface with there iCloud.One of the few Sky atlas applications available for a Mac and with the telescope control makes it an exceptional powerful tool.I have found the support received is second to none.Only been running SkySafari 6 Pro for a short time but so far no negatives.Great Application guys.Bob.

I've long used this on my iPad and have recently stumped up for the iMac desktop version. As a longtime amateur astronomer I'd give this high praise. It shows you what you want and just doesn't get in the way of the astronomy. I'm impressed with the Help too. Recently, I needed to reconstruct the sky visible from my home on 15th September 1599 (Julian calendar) at 13h 23m. A doddle with this package.
