I’ve used it once do a 50 mile round trip in the southeast of kent and I must say I’m very impressed! It took me down roads I would normally avoid but it all became part of the fun.The ONLY criticism I have is that on the UK backroads it doesn’t seem to realise you’re about to go across a crossroads or something, or tells you to follow the road round when it’s actually a junction. Get this sometime with a normal satnav, but on what I think of a short ride, it happened enough times for me to feel the need to bring it up.Overall I think the app is great though and I will continue to use it, I think it’s great! Especially all the tracking stuff after, the social feed looks quite fun too.

Hi L0rdy, thank you for your feedback and review! We're glad to hear that you like the app and thank you for sharing your feedback around the junctions and cross roads in the UK, we will look into it. Have a great day // The Detecht Team
Good but there could be some improvements

I really like the app so far. I’ve used it for 6 months or so. The social media aspect I don’t use much except for the occasional picture. Where I think there could be improvements. Routes: no traffic information or rerouting. Even if a road is completely closed detecht will still lead you there causing possibly you having to go all the way back. Twisty roads, medium twisty roads or fastest route. In the UK be aware that if you opt for twisty routes you will often find yourself on a road that’s only really suitable for scramblers and other off road bikes. Also, you will find many single lane roads in the UK which might not be your thing. I suspect this might not be such a problem outside the UK where you hardly find single lane roads. If the maps function adds live traffic information I would certainly give 5 stars.

I’ve been using Detecht for a while now and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with it. From day one, it’s been an absolute game-changer for my rides. The route planning is fantastic—I can easily find or create the perfect ride, whether I want twisty scenic roads or just a smooth trip to a new café. The turn-by-turn navigation is clear and reliable, and I love how it auto-pauses when I stop so my ride stats stay accurate. What really blows me away is the safety features. The automatic crash detection gives me peace of mind knowing my family will be alerted if anything happens. It’s one of those things you hope you’ll never need, but it’s priceless to have.On top of that, the community is brilliant. I’ve discovered great routes from other riders, shared my own, and even met new riding buddies through the app. It’s not just a tool—it’s like having a whole biker network in my pocket.Bottom line: if you ride, you need this app. It makes every trip safer, more fun, and way more connected. Easily the best motorcycle app I’ve ever used.

Motorbike App - Detecht

I have found the Detecht App very good with useful information recorded of rides undertaken. Data includes mileage, elevation, speed etc. On the laptop the actual route details are shown on a map with waypoints and other information. There is also route planner included in the app, which I haven’t used yet but from what I have seen so far I am sure it will be very useful. I would recommend Detecht to any biker 🏍 and I am amazed that apps such as this are free.In addition, I had a problem retrieving my previous data (rides) after I upgraded my iPhone and Detecht Customer Services were outstanding in helping me get everything sorted.

We are constantly making changes and improvements to Detecht. Make sure you enable updates so you do not miss anything.
New in this version:
• Turn-by-turn voice prompts sound better, with a more natural English voice and better-balanced volume
• A cleaner Friends tab, with one search for every rider on Detecht
• On CarPlay, get notifications for your next turn and hazard warnings while you use another app, like Music
• Scroll back through all your notification activities, not just the latest 25
• Pausing a ride is always your call: the buttons stay put when auto-pause kicks in at a light
We also fixed a handful of bugs and made the app more stable.
