Any bible app should not offer in app purchases or a subscription to a premium version (in order to unlock more translations) as this goes against the very principles set out in the Bible. It should either make all translations free or not have those which are only with the subscription. Access to a relationship with God is free due to Gods Grace and Mercy, this should be reflected in the app. I understand practically it costs to run but instead developers should apply to charity funds and church community’s and pray for honest funding in other ways, because if I wasn’t already a Christian I would be put off the faith by the way this app behaves like any other money grabbing coercive app.The adverts are also off putting, and this has been written about extensively in other comments. I agree that to have banking adverts interspersed with the word of God is distracting and degrading to the book which is supposed to be treated as holy. It is a modern day equivalent of market traders in the house of god, the synagogue, where Jesus famously became angry and kicked them out. It is important we remember commerce should not interfere with our relationship with our creator God, and you cannot buy access to God. So no adverts please.Further notes are that the list of English translations do not contain the most common ones found in English Churches such as NIV (New International Version) the ESV (English Standard Version) and the NLT (New Living Translation) to name a few, why is this ?Please sort our these issues as they are really important.

It’s refreshing to see a bible app with a modern native - looking design (although the tired app icon should be changed). It really fits in well with iOS in general, and it looks great. The praise ends there, however. Firstly, the sheer cost of premium is crazy. I would love to know how many subscribers the app has, because no amount of great design can justify this cost.Secondly, full screen ads opening whenever you open a bible passage is a big no-non. That runs completely against the idea of spending time in quiet reflection in God’s word. I understand the need to make money - and the small adverts at the bottom of the screen are an alright compromise, but that leads me to...Thirdly, every ad I’ve had so far has been for Martin Lewis (a financial advisor) all about obtaining wealth and making money. Did I download a banking app or am I trying to read the bible. Every time I open a passage I am presented with a full screen ad for how to become wealthy. I think it’s a very disappointing selection for the type of app.I will definitely not be subscribing and would not recommend this app to anybody. I will keep it installed so I that I can track updates and see if anything changes positively.Tl;dr: great modern design (minus the icon), the rest is terrible.
