Build, paint, render, and export detailed voxel worlds on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Voxel Max combines approachable controls with powerful tools for artists, game developers, hobbyists, and first-time creators. Place individual voxels, drag to build larger forms, or use fast shape brushes to block out ideas quickly. Start from scratch or begin with a library of prefab people, furniture, vegetation, architecture, and more.
BUILD AND EDIT
• Create in a 256 × 256 × 256 voxel workspace
• Paint with fast SDF brushes and pressure-sensitive controls
• Combine 255 colors with eight material layers for up to 2,040 color-and-material variations
• Fine-tune textures, materials, and visual effects
• See material changes rendered in real time
• Zoom in for precise edits or out to manage complete scenes
• Save creations as reusable assets for cloning and scene building
RENDER AND PRESENT
• Preview creations in augmented reality on iPhone and iPad
• Capture photos and videos of your work in the world around you
• Use ray-traced lighting and shadows on supported Metal GPUs
• Explore Marching Cubes, Outline, and Curvature rendering effects
• Add backgrounds and replay your build as a time-lapse in Presenter View
IMPORT, EXPORT, AND SHARE
• Import and export MagicaVoxel and Qubicle scenes
• Import USDZ and GLB scenes and convert them into editable voxel art
• Export PNG, Voxel Max Asset Pack, SCNZ, DAE, FBX, GLB, OBJ, STL, and USDZ
• Work across iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iCloud syncing
FOUNDRY
Turn images into 3D assets with Foundry AI, and scan real-world objects on supported devices. AI generation may require a third-party account.
From a single voxel to a complete scene, Voxel Max gives you the tools to create wherever inspiration strikes.
i love this app and it’s features and it’s definitely a great option if not at least the best option, but i do say it’s missing one feature that another app has and that’s rendering. i would love too see that in this app as at least an option(due to it being high power demand). i know this has been done with another app goxel and if it was on voxel max it would make it so much better especially as for people who try to make there art the best :D

Thank you for your kind words. Indeed the main reason for the absence of the path tracer is the battery consumption. However, there are a lot of options to export from Voxel Max to a desktop system and use a ray tracer there. I would recommend using the GLTF export option as it's covering 100% the material system in VMax and a Blender Cycles or LightTracer.
Superb

I use MagicaVoxel all the time for game development but wanted to do design work away from my PC. I found this app and its an absolute golden find.I use it on an 1st gen iPad Pro and it works without any hitches. No performance issues neither. It has a lot of the features of MagicaVoxel hidden a way in a neat interface and I find I’m very productive with it. Supports a huge array of export options so I move my work to Magica if needed or straight into Blender. The only feature I feel is missing is being able to restrict the grid to actual size of the model you are creating. I need to work with precise model sizes and it would be good if the work area could be restricted to that size.Apart from that an amazing app and highly recommended. At £10 it’s a bargain. And no subscription which is a massive bonus these days!

Thank you for your kind words, I m so happy you are enjoying Voxel Max!Indeed restricting work area it's necessary for precise model sizing and I'm already considering ways to do it. Please feel free to join the brainstorming on Discord, I would be very interested to learn from your workflow.https://discord.gg/UEmzMJ3
Interesting and different
JtgMabuse
I noticed this app whilst updating the Nomad app, and I have to say that it’s very interesting indeed. You can create blocky landscapes and all manner of 3D “Lego” type objects. These can be exported from Voxel Max and imported into Nomad as Obj or similar files which can be remodelled in any 3D app which accepts these type of files. The app is interesting to play with just on its own too. Great start of more creative type of much needed things on the iPad. Well done.

The best voxel editor for Apple Silicon
the_real_trojanfoe
This app is the fastest and best looking voxel editor for an Apple Silicon Mac. Despite it clearly being developed for touch devices it works really well on Mac.Exporting is great and supports many formats with optimised meshes and a single texture per object per channel (i.e. diffuse, emission, etc).
- Object pivots stay centered independently of the camera's center-of-mass setting.
- Reduced accidental camera roll while pinching to zoom; roll sensitivity can now be set to zero.
- Better-fitting editor toolbars on iPhone Duo and other compact views.
- Fixed the Gallery title and logo layout on Mac.
- More reliable scene instances and project saving.
- Improved stability when opening, switching and closing projects.
- Fixed floor connections in the Industrial Building Brush style.
