Good, but…

i’m using the free version. As so many reviews are saying, a useful app with some serious shortcomings. Grammarly suggests corrections, and some good ones, that are missed by the proofing software / chat gpt built in to pages. that’s the upside. the down side, and it’s a big one, the user interface is so intrusive it makes the app nearly impossible or me to use. if i give it access to Pages, for example, corrections are marked whether i want them to be or not (sometimes i just want to read or write) The interface window seems to include text from pages in the document that i’m not even trying to proof. Most annoying of all, the free version keeps trying to sell me an upgrade to the paid version. Fair enough, the developers have to eat, but how it’s done is so intrusive, so frequent, and so disruptive to my workflow that once i’ve finished this document, i’ll delete it, and go back to the less thorough built in Pages proofing.
Grammarly is great but....

I think grammarly is amazing, it has helped me so much! However, I think that it is a bit crazy how restricted the other features are if you do not have premium. I am still a secondary school student and do not fancy asking my parents to pay that much money per month for grammarly, or any money for that matter. I feel like it is inappropriate pricing and that those features should come free or at least as a cheaper one time purchase. Aside from that, I think that is a wonderful appliance and an extremely useful tool which applies extensive vocabulary to your writing and masks any small imperfections with its clarity checker. In summary, I do not think premium is a fair price. Although I understand that you have to make your money some how, I think more people would actually consider using this excellent tool if you were to make it free. This app sincerely appealed to me, what with all the essays and deadlines that I have to reach for school but it is a serious bummer how I cannot get premium as I feel that would really boost my writing and my Grammarly experience.

As an educator with dyslexia, this is free with my institution. I can not recommend a paid subscription to Grammarly at this point.I have had all 4 Grammarly apps/plugins. Safari plugin - useful for small form filling, do not expect it to work well or consistently for long texts/MS Word - The company has decided to stop supporting the MS Word plugin and instead move to the Desktop app, a terrible decision. Desktop app - As mentioned by other reviewers, the Desktop app is torturous to use. I have also found it constantly crashes; thankfully, it doesn't take my work with it. It doesn't track the text/information as nicely as the MS Word add-in did. The tiny window for previewing the sentences is useless. It needs to be much bigger and contain more of the paragraph to review the work as the tracking in MS Word lags/disappears.Editor - clunky at best, no longer updates, and makes repeated errors.

I had subscription of this app for a year and I stopped it for the reasons I've explained in my previous review, however following following the recent upgrade it stopped working because it requires a full access to all your Safari browsing and you can't even be selective which seems to be intrusion too far into one's life.Previous reviewit's ok but very annoying at the timesI've had the premium version for nearly a year but cancelled it as I couldn't cope with its flaws. The authors of this app have a few fetishes: - They over-hyphenate words, linking any words they find.- They are obsessed with commas and add them right, left, and centre. Worse still, it sometimes it ask you to add a comma, then it ask you to remove it, then again it asks you to put it back on. All these are an unnecessary distraction- I absolutely hate their pop-up windows and can't find a way to stop it.Although you can select British English, I don't think the authors fully understand what "British English" means.Above all, what is most annoying is that Grammarly interferes with your writing even before you finish the sentence. It acts more like a persistent, annoying fly that stops your thought process for the sake of adding a few commas! What these people fail to understand is the whole point about writing is to convey thoughts and ideas and not just to have lots of commas.
