Session is a new breed of private messenger, built on a unique network of user-operated servers spread all over the world. With no central servers, Session can’t leak or sell your data. And with Session’s private routing protocols, your messages are completely safe. No trackers, no leaks — send messages, not metadata.
• Fully private account creation: No phone number or email needed to create an Account ID
• Decentralized server network: No data breaches, no central point of failure
• No metadata logging: Session doesn't store, track, or log your messaging metadata
• IP address protection: Device IP addresses are never exposed to the person you're talking to or the servers holding your data
• Closed groups: Private, end-to-end encrypted group chats for up to 100 people
• Secure attachments: Share voice snippets, photos, and files with Session's secure encryption and privacy protections
• Free and open-source: Don’t take our word for it — check Session's code yourself
Session is free as in free speech and free as in free of ads and trackers. It is stewarded by the Session Foundation, a Swiss-based foundation dedicated to advancing digital rights and innovation. Take back your online privacy today — download Session.

I understand calls are in beta. It’s a shame there is no talk for a roadmap for calls. Messaging service works flawlessly and ive had all my friends and family download and use this app. Recently started to move away from session as the calls are unstable. More time than not i get connection issues when trying to call others. It’s very rare that a call is successful. Just a shame as calls are just as important as messaging. I’ve been closely watching session GitHub for an update or talk on fixes for calls but there has been no such talk. I hope very soon there will be a major update for calls
Developer Response
Thanks for the feedback! Glad messaging is working well for you. Session contributors are hard at work bringing calls out of beta and improving stability. Your feedback really helps the project - feel free to share more ideas here: https://getsession.org/survey 💚

I love this app enough as everything it’s file is encrypted. This app cannot be compared to other messaging app I’ve used before. But today I’ve been noticing weird stuff happening on the app which I had to update the app. But I don’t understand why app being removed from the AppStore?

The idea of this app is good but in reality it’s probably one of the worst chat apps I’ve ever used, it fails at the most basic level. I remember using chat apps back in the 90’s and they worked great, but almost 30 years on and this app has gone backwards. Firstly the app often crashes back to desktop when I open it, people have been reporting this bug for over a year and here we are. If someone tries to start a conversation with me, or I try to start one with them, then there’s a 90% chance it won’t work. If I can’t chat with people reliably or trust the app to work properly then it’s not a good app. Security and privacy are good, but it’s pointless if your chat app is objectively worse than what we had in the 90’s.

Before downloading this app I was looking forward to using it as it looked very promising, however after using this app everything changed. This talking platform can’t even execute basic sequences without issues interrupting, how can I have a conversation with someone if I keep getting kicked off back to HS? It’s caused so many troubles for me.On top of that the notification system in this app is not fluent, sometimes I don’t received any notifications on certain platforms, anywho I really do hope your developing team focuses on fixing the core aspect on this Private talking platform such that it can be of use to many of us who are struggling with these issues. I look forward to these changes
