Firstly I’ve not used extensively and am hoping to revise my review down the line. I would love to replace all my apps with this and have consistency with the electronics on the boat. However the first glaring issue is navigation on an iPhone 12 Pro just does not work. The navigations for “Back”, “Save”, etc that display at the top of the screen overlap the time and make these buttons frustratingly hard to press. This frustration is enough to stop using until resolved. So next year when my Navionics card and App subscriptions expire I’ll revisit. For now it looks good, and I think it’s going to be great if it gets further development.

Best Cartography no tidal/current flow Info

I have been using this as an alternative Navionics for a few months now. I prefer the cartography and the auto routing is as good as anything else I have tried. there are some annoying you ux gripes. measuring distances requires two or three interactions and for some reason it measures distances in kilometres even though all the routing information etc is set to nautical miles. But there is no tidal flow information even on the subscription which is a massive shortcomings. For this reason it 2 stars not 4. That said there is a host of information on anchorages and the wind overlay works well. I would love it if somebody could introduce Auto routing that calculated the impact of tidal flows and gave a course to steer if you set a departure time and date. Tidal Information is shown in more or less the same format as Navionics, a little more clunky but it does highlight the time zone the tidal calculation is occurring within and gives you the option to switch to local time. Overall, a very solid navigation app.
Doesn’t work well on my iPhone

If I tap on the screen there’s in no option to Goto. I only get an option of creating a route which makes the point I have selected to goto the start point! Also when I turn the map to work out which direction my track is the mini compass turns the wrong way so it’s not showing North at all! I have no idea what’s it’s pointing to and it turns green or red or a shadow and means nothing at all! Very frustrating clunky and very hard to use. The app is not intuitive, and seems to do the opposite of what you would expect! (Goto, deleting old tracks and synching with my chartplotter) My map is cluttered with old tracks that I can’t seem to hide. They also cannot be deleted without going through the 3 dots instead of an option to directly delete which took 10 minutes to figure out. Why is it so difficult?? Even attempting to give feedback via the app doesn’t work as the send button gives me an unknown error and shades out the send button…! Gah!!

The B&G app is an ideal addition to the B&G plotter being able to use as a remote device The C-Maps are clear and easy to navigate the premium is very good value given the coverage along with the addition of weather etc I highly recommend getting the app to anyone going sailing even if you don’t have a B&G plotter
