Turn your Mac into a universal Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and media remote control. One keyboard to rule them all.
Use your Mac keyboard to control all your devices. From smartphones and tablets to TVs and even the raspberry pi, KeyPad turns your Mac into a powerful universal Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, and media remote. A software KVM.
Feature Summary:
Universal Bluetooth Keyboard: Use your Mac's keyboard as a Bluetooth keyboard to control various devices including iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Apple TVs, smart TVs (Samsung, Sony), Raspberry Pis, and more.
Multi-Device Support: Maintains connections with multiple devices. One keyboard to rule them all.
Developer Support: Use the Mac keyboard and mouse to test keyboard support for your iPhone, iPad, Android, and TV apps.
Integrated Mouse and Keyboard Functionality: KeyPad emulates both a keyboard and a mouse, providing full cursor control for iPads and basic mouse functions for iPhones via Assistive Touch.
Ergonomic Benefits: Provides a comfortable typing alternative to small, cramped mobile keyboards or voice controls, ideal for users with physical limitations or those seeking to avoid "texting thumb".
Customizable Controls: Features like Control + Option for mouse control and reconfigurable hotkeys such as Command+Option+P for toggling the KeyPad interface, enhance user experience.
Language and Layout Support: Supports multiple keyboard layouts, ensuring correct character input regardless of user location or language preferences.
Seamless Setup: Easy setup process involves making KeyPad discoverable, pairing and connecting over Bluetooth, and starting immediate control.
Privacy and Discretion: Useful for maintaining privacy during presentations, as notifications can be confined to the phone rather than appearing on the Mac screen.
Ideal for:
Developers: Use your Mac keyboard to test keyboard support for your iPhone, iPad, Android or TV App. Use the Mac keyboard to control devices like Raspberry Pis or set-top boxes.
Home Entertainment: Control your smart TV with the comfort of your Mac's keyboard. Navigate media interfaces faster than using a traditional TV remote.
Social media: Keep your social media notifications on your Phone or Tablet, and your work on your Mac.
Reduce Clutter: Keep workspace clutter-free by eliminating the need for multiple keyboards or controls for different devices.
Accessibility Uses: Users with motor skill difficulties can benefit from using a full-size keyboard.
Multimedia Production: Control playback and editing software on tablets or other computers from your Mac during video or music production.
Gaming: Use the Mac’s keyboard to play games on tablets or mobile devices that may offer a better gaming experience with keyboard input.
Everyday Convenience: Send texts and emails from mobile devices using the Mac's keyboard for a quicker, more comfortable typing experience. Browse the internet on a tablet or mobile device using a real keyboard instead of touchscreens or small mobile keypads.
Remote Work: Switch seamlessly between personal and work devices connected to your Mac, enhancing productivity. Control other PC's and Macs directly from your Mac.

1. Pair devices via the in-app Bluetooth connection dialog.
2. Select the Bluetooth device and add it to the KeyPad device list

Good solid app. Could do with a little more polish.

It's a good app, works reliably and is well thought out. The UI could use a bit of work: (1) The big spinning wheel icon that covers the window while connecting is low-res and ugly. Would be good to have a more subtle and slicker way of indicating connection status. (2) To quit you have to right click the dock icon or go to the menus. Would be good to have that option available upon clicking the menubar icon. (3) more generally the UI is a bit cluttered. I don't think 'what's new' and 'like keypad?' should be in the interface window, and the 'paste' button seems a bit hanging (4) It would be nice for the app to display an image of the device connected in the window rather than just the name. Perhaps even the menubar icon could change to reflect the device (i.e. ipad or iphone)? Just a thought.

Glad you like it. Thank you for the feedback. I continue to make updates regularly. I expect to have these suggestions incorporated in a future release.
Excellent app, responsive developer

All-in-all, this App is an almost perfect execution of the idea of a Bluetooth KVM (without the V :) I use it to control a second Mac (with a broken keyboard) and it has been invaluable. The upgrade to enable the Pro-features is a bargain at twice the price.Since downloading, the developer has fixed the vertical-scroll direction issue and also added horizontal mouse-scrolling which was not there before. The mouse-movement "smoothness" is not perfect, but it's usable, and is something that the developer has indicated may improve in a future release. 🤞😁The only other issues are to do with the system-wide hotkeys, but there are workarounds that help with this:1. FN TAB opens the App Switcher instead of CMD TAB2. FN SPACE opens Spotlight instead of CMD SPACEI would really like alternatives to CTRL UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT for desktop-switching Mission Control, but the program is so useful this isn't worth a 1-star drop in score.Thank you and congratulations on making such a useful app. 🙏

Thank you trying out KeyPad. Happy that you like it!Thank you for the feedback. I update the app regularly and will include some of your suggestions. For the iPad mouse speed go to "Settings | General | Trackpad & Mouse" you can adjust the mouse tracking speed, and Natural scrolling direction. These settings are visible on the iPad only if KeyPad is connected. For some of the keystrokes like Command + Space, and Command + Tab you can use Function + Space and Function + Tab.
My solution for switching between PC and iPad

I'm stuck on a Windoze laptop for work but like using Obsidian, a non-PC app, for my personal knowledge management on work-related fields I'm unfamiliar with. Both my Mac and work PC are linked to the same mouse and keyboard via a £10 usb switcher box. Linking my Mac to my iPad via KeyPad effectively lets me use this box to switch from PC to iPad when adding an entry to the iOS version of Obsidian.
It works!

Awesome! I've been struggling with the broken touch on my iphone for the most basic stuff. This solution does not require internet and only requires a couple of small steps on the phone. I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 only because the first time you use it the UI is a bit confusing and gives you the first impression that it's not working. However there is a page that explains everything step by step (click "Setup Video" in the settings window). The touch cursor is also a bit slow, IDK if it's my phone or the software. It saved me and does what it promises.
