A great app - and getting better every day!

As a daily London commuter I find the speed and simplicity of NexTrain perfect for my needs. I can check whether my regular trains are on time before I leave home/office and it’s easy to quickly reconfigure for other stations when I’m travelling around the UK.And now that I can get platform information right on my Apple Watch, I couldn’t be happier. Keep up the good work!!!

Not perfect, but a neat gimmick

Seeing live upcoming departures is available in most apps or websites, but it's never displayed with an authentic looking departure screen aesthetic like this. Sadly, it's not perfect, as most of the views do not include the train operator, or only include the operator as part of the scrolling text at the bottom, which isn't accurate to the real boards. In fact, that limitation makes me unlikely to use this at actual stations since knowing the operator is necessary for the tickets around here (Crewe to London tickets especially) and a disambiguation between fast and slow trains departing at the same time is sometimes necessary. I do have to stress that this is the main issue I have with it, and for local journeys or stations with only one operator for a destination, it's perfect as is.

This is great little app that I have used consistently for years now.I have only a few suggestions for improvement - it would be great if it could incorporate standby mode on iOS somehow, so when my phone is charging in landscape there is a widget which will show trains for my nominated station. It would also be good to incorporate line disruption/delay notifications if possible? Lastly, I would like to go pro but don’t want to sign up for an annual, recurring fee. It would be good if there was a lifetime option that might cost a little more, but it’s just one transaction.These are all just suggestions against what is a very good and thoughtful app. Thank you for developing it.

Thanks for the great review and glad to hear you're enjoying NexTrain!We're not looking at iOS widgets right now due to restrictions on how often they refresh, making it difficult the information up-to-the-minute. If that changes I will be quick to take advantage. Notifications are a good idea and are on my (very long!) list.For subscriptions, I totally understand. The issue is my costs are recurring so unfortunately its not really practical to support lifetime at this time. You're welcome and safe journeys for the future!

Love the app. which gives you the information you need when you’re about to walk round for a train or planning which one to get and how long it is until the next one showing whether it’s on time or delayed.Very accommodating developer as well who is very open to ideas for updates.Delighted CRS search has been added already in an update.
