Update 2023:Read many books in German using this app - it was the only option I could possibly find that combined in-app tap word to translate, the ability to upload your own books, and a vocab helper. Now I’m setting off on a journey to learn my next language (French) and so I’ve come back to this app, and found it more capable than ever! What I like most is still the design - it’s more important not just to have the features, but that they are easy to use and they are all in an obvious place. But it the design also in a general sense ‘brings joy’ in a way I don’t think I’ve ever encountered in an app before - A*. If you are serious about your language learning journey but you want the right tool for the job, then this is the app to invest your money in.Original Review:Terrific design, OP dictionary, great learning tools, very good out of box experience. Would be great to have the add to dictionary feature automatically remove endings and to have better offline functionality. But I LOVE the app!!!

Terrific! A great app for language learning using foreign texts. better than any of the competitors I’ve trie and cheaper than most. Can read news feeds, classic texts or import own content. Easy to translate single words, groups of words or sentences. Text selection tool works really well. Spaced repetition interface for saved words and phrases is very smooth. Lots of well thought out features. I like the way that full quotes from the original text (and other examples) are used to give the words some context. I like being able to long press for translate without having to click through menus Subscription is available but lifetime purchase is cheaper than yearly subscription for most competitors. Minor quibble: Jumping between reading and other functions takes a few clicks. Maybe there could be a "home" button permanently somewhere. Very impressed so far

Excellent language learning & reading app

I am absolutely delighted with this app. <3Minimalism, and ease of downloading books and translating words with one touch. You can see the time and even the percentage of the device's charge right on the screen, without leaving the app! I also appreciate the ability to save translated words in a personal dictionary. I want to add that I am very touched by the fact that the developers listen to user requests and only develop this application. Also, useful and inexpensive subscription Linga Premium is definitely worth it!This is my personal favourite app for reading books and learning English.
