I previously reviewed the app and awarded 3 stars as I found the navigation of the memory palace module to be unclear and frustrating. I’m pleased to report that the support team provided me with further information and told me an update was imminent. I also received a helpful and detailed developer update - thank you. I’ve updated the app and the new information alongside the latest app functionality had addressed the issues I encountered. I’m now happy to award 4 stars. I hoped to be able to amend my previous review however I cannot see that the App Store is populating this review with my earlier comments.UpdateThe changes to the app have been a great improvement. The lessons work well. The associations for the various memory techniques were fairly easy to remember and i did far better than i expected. I’d add that the lessons are well-paced too. I’m now happy to increase my rating to 5 Stars!
Developer Response
Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback! We'd like to clarify that Mind Palaces are designed to help you store and recall information more effectively by leveraging spatial memory. This technique is used and proposed by our co-founder, two-time World Memory Champion Jonas von Essen. We offer a variety of themed Palaces to make building associations more interactive and engaging, helping you connect information with memorable visuals and locations. The rooms in the Transfers section are part of this system: you “visit” and recreate them to strengthen memory connections, which later allows you to store real information like names, numbers, lists, and languages. We suggest starting with the "Memory Crash Course," which is designed as a guided intro and builds your foundation step by step. Please ensure that you review the in-room tutorial, which can be found in the Palaces tab at the top of the screen again. Additionally, we will soon release an updated onboarding experience within the Palaces, along with one-tap navigation, which will help you maneuver more easily. The Transfer feature leverages spaced repetition to combat the forgetting curve and reinforce your memory over time.Repeatedly transferring rooms strengthens the neural pathways in your brain, helping build a structured mind drive in your long-term memory for further use. Each successful transfer builds a stronger folder-like system, creating a powerful foundation for future memory management. Coupled with the lessons we offer, you can learn how to encode, store, and recall needed information with the use of the Memory Palaces and the rooms that you already know well. Once the Loci in a room are 'transferred' to long-term memory, they serve as folders, allowing you to attach pieces of information, such as facts, numbers, names, concepts, and anything else that is important. This process ensures long-term retention, making it easier to remember even complex things effortlessly over time, just like World Memory Champions do.In case you'd like to adjust navigation settings, here are some pointers below:🎮 Movement:Use the left joystick to walk and enable the right joystick to look around (you can turn this off in settings if you prefer). Tap the ☰ icon → 'Settings.'⚙️ Adjust Speed & Sensitivity:Tap the ☰ icon → 'Settings.'Please contact us at support@memoryos.com so we can give you quick tips to enhance your experience and make it more enjoyable. Surprisingly good

Really good introduction. It was almost perfect. The only two things i noticed were that when I tap on the navigation axis whilst moving it can move about. I would prefer it to stay fixed as I’m constantly moving my left hand to adjust for its movement. Lastly, some of the videos had some white space at the top and bottom, its very minor but it looked weird. Overall really good and it was very suprising just how good this technique can be applied via an app. I had tried the same palace memory technique before by painting pictures but i would say this is a big improvement.
Looks good

Just tried it tonight; the first two rooms I was able to navigate but on trying to navigate the third room, I got stuck looking at the floor. Therefore I think detailed written instructions on how to use the joystick and either some try-out joystick tutorials or links we can go to some would be good, for people who might struggle with that aspect. On another note, I think the positive reinforcement is a good idea for when we complete a task. And the whole concept is a good one.It would be good if we could increase motivation by havig the chance to meet teachers amd peers online once we gain the skills, to show off what we've done or talk about how we applied this to our own subject matter.
Amazing

A great amount of work, money and energy has been invested in order to make this application what it is today. I have been following these guys since the beginning and I am really impressed with the ongoing development of the app which is fun and interesting to use. It takes a bit of time to get to know how it all works but each step has been carefully laid out and explained. If you wish to expand your visualisation and memory skills, this is a great choice to just do that. Give it a try and seriously do the exercises. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you for your continued feedback!
