I have used a variety of text/calling apps such as text now, textmeup, etc. And though I've only had it one day it appears to pretty easy to use and offers a lot of features other apps charge for for free.

Avoid at all costs

Purchased one year subscription as would be in Australia for a year. App had functionality problems from the get go. They had a major outage in February but didn’t tell their customers. Had to get a new number and have them attach the subscription to it. That number eventually stopped working as well. Constantly got a message everytime from their support saying any new numbers are functional and they are changing providers which should take a few days. Was sent that message after contacting support over a month period. Asked to get a new number again but this time go through a “verification process” submitted my ID 5 times and told the pics were blurry even though they were not and same pics I used for verification on other apps. At this point wanted a refund and told to contact Apple support as they handle the charging of accounts. They knew Apple would reject my claim as it was outside their 14 day refund policy. I’ve been totally scammed and have a useless app.

Disappointed with OnPhone App – No Renewal Notice, Lost Number!

I purchased a UK number through OnPhone, and when it expired, I received no notification or reminder about renewing it. Without warning, they cancelled my number, and now someone else is using it! This is extremely frustrating because I had used that number to register for several important services, and now I have to go through the tedious process of blocking and deleting it from various databases. Losing access to such a critical piece of information with no communication from OnPhone is unacceptable. You need to improve your customer service and renewal process.

A few days before the number expires, you will be sent a warning notification so that you can renew the number if you have disabled auto-renewal or do not have enough coins on your balance. This app wouldn’t do what they claimed. I needed data for travelling in the U.K. it didn’t work and after much discussion with customer services where they claimed it was my fault, they held their hands up and said it was an issue with their provider. The same happened with text messaging but they never took responsibility, just blamed my incompetence. A little too arrogant at customer services for my liking and a service that only did 1 out of the 3 things it claimed to do.
