This software has been an absolute godsend for me and my team. I’m creating a 2d animated short film with my indie studio and this is our primary animation software. It’s cheap enough for a small studio like mine to afford for me to buy the software for all my animators, and powerful enough for more than what we need to achieve. The UI is pretty much perfect, its easy to learn as long as you know where to find resources (a simple search on your local search engine takes you straight there) which makes it super beginner friendly. This app is made by one guy and has been updated like 10 times more in its 3 years being out than procreate with its whole team of developers in 2 years, and it is still being updated and having features added. I would not be surprised if i go into a coma for a year and wake up to see toonsquid is now the world’s leading animation software. There are so many features i still haven’t found them all. When i have a problem while animating, toonsquid has a solution already there. The dev has been making fixes that i didnt even think could be fixed, and adding features i didnt know were even possible. The fact the total rating isnt 5 stars yet bewilders me. I hope someday this app gets better reputation than the likes of what blender has for cheap, reliable, and easy-access media creation. In my eyes it is already there. Buy this app.
Love it!

I’ve been using procreate for many years to do very small basic animations, but wanted to move on to something a bit more substantial. Someone suggested toon squid, and because I don’t really have a lot of money I purchased it ,and love it. It’s simple to use but extremely effective. A little while later, I’m not sure why, but I decided to try procreate dreams, not because Toon squid had gone down in my estimations, no, just because I thought as I’d been given money as a gift, I’d treat myself to it. After a few days trying Procreate Dreams ( which may I add is double the price of toon squid) , I’ve now gone back to Toon Squid, because it wins hands down in my opinion. I feel comfortable using it, its features, although similar, they are better by far, and include the little things I like, that Procreate dreams have not added. . I’ve requested my money back for procreate dreams. 5 stars Toon Squid. I’ll be sticking with you.
Really good, just one suggestion

I absolutely love this app. Was animating on flipaclip for 3 to 4 years and as soon as I bought this my animation was upgraded. It’s smoother, easier and has a lot more features than other apps. There is one feature that I see a lot, though, and this is being able to use keyframes on SYMBOLS!! This is a feature that I don’t imagine would be hard to implement, and over all would just be useful. An example would be, a talking mouth symbol, that would just talk over and over, that I would be able to keyframe to move WHILE it is talking. (If you know what I mean?) another cool thing with this would be being able to keyframe multiple layers at the same time (a still image layer and a symbol animation at the same time?) this would help with stuff like faces if I want movement and I don’t want it to be static. If this is added, I will 100% be changing my review to 5 stars! This is literally the last feature I need and then I’ll be able to do everything I want on this app. Thanks!
Best Workplace UI In all Animation I’ve tried so far.

Apps UI really comfortable to use, no other animation app has met my standards. Creates a really nice workflow and runs smoothly on an older device. An app I recommend to many and new animators. Excited to try out all new features in update 2.0.A suggestion, would be give option to tweak workplace UI tools’ placement. For examples, have preference for the undo/redo button to be on the left side but want to keep all other tools remain in Right Handed placements. Another thing is to have the undo/redo button move up or be somehow visible when you need to have many animations layers visible but the undo/redo becomes hidden when the animation layer window is pulled up over it to view many layers (sadly not a tap tap gesture fan, I do love pressing buttons).
- Fixed a bug in 2.0.26 that caused the selected drawing layer to change when deleting, cutting or copying a selection region of a layer.
