Ever since the original Caesar PC game, or the original Age of Empires PC game, great great great single player strategy games that I used to play and love, I finally found a somewhat similar strategy game for iOS platforms, with better graphics of course :) than the old games mentioned.. What a great single player strategy game (which is what I wanted - play it on my own, complete the missions in my own time and don’t have to be online when other players are to complete missions etc, and all the other demands of a multi player game). I love this Rome war strategy game just as it is! I simply love it, and I hope the missions go on forever, and I hope the developers come up with other single player strategy games, either similar to this one, ancient Rome theme or similar to Age of Empires PC game theme. In the meantime I enjoy so much playing this great game. On the downside I wish it wouldn’t cost so much to get new generals or to get the necessary gold coins to level up/upgrade the troops or the generals skills, but other than that, I simply love and enjoy this game very much. And again, I hope the developers will keep coming up with new missions/wars scenarios, and in this way keep this awesome single player strategy game going, as is well worth it!

Perfect way to Kill some time..Along with the Ancient Enemies of Rome

I started this game earlier this year (2024) and I am hooked. I have always been interested in ancient history and in warfare and these combine well in this game. The gameplay is very easy at first with a sharp ramp-up after a few levels which may remove some of the less keen, turn-based strategy gamers. However, with a steady grind to improve general and unit levels (along with some excellent advice by other GWR gamers on the discord site) these are attainable. To make progress easier (and to support the developers) premium units and generals can be bought with qualities that are not found on the base units. I have been lured a few times lol, although I don’t mind paying some money to do something i enjoy and this kills a fair chunk of dead-time.

Great game so far, stilling interesting and loving the tactics, getting harder now !! Probably trying to get me to pay for better troops !! But I’ll keep going for now. Slowing progress now due to me not paying to upgrade so I will have to see how it goes over the next week !! Still slowing progress because I can’t afford to pay for extra but still fun !!!! Enjoying what I can do and we worth a go !!

Decent game except the fact it’s so hard to get gold and to expensive to buy, £20 for a season pass ?? That’s just a joke considering how little you get. Game play is great, Audio is a bit repetitive but not much annoyanceGreat game over all just the fact it takes so long to get gold if you accidentally spend 200 on a random troops after you’ve won a mission it’s annoying af to know I’m gonna have to spend another week grinding to get it back
