Excellent free App delivering entry level high level bite size information on a host of topics
DBoxStew
With zero expectations on the method of delivery and depth of the course subject content, it’s fair to say the app is very visually pleasing and very simple to navigate along with being well structured and engaging.Well done to the UI team!Although it did take me a second to realise could/needed to manually zoom to see the tiles in each continent when first seeing the high level course view. ( a pop up saying to zoom could be beneficial)Following Comments based on singular topic overview & content overview- 1) Technology & Engineering2) Professional Skills 2.1)Project management 1)Technology&Engineering I appreciate these topics are vast, however there are some core sub topics which could have been selected.TechnologyThe options could be better structured and have more topics, however the current options are a fair starting point.Engineering The options seem to be limited or even lacking core topics which would be normally associated with the term Engineering. Green energy does tick the box, however I’d have expected more. Eg Electrical, CIVIL etc2)Professional SkillsThe options seems to be more aligned to Business Skills rather than Professional Skills as I’d expect Professional skills would be better suited with soft skills such as Effective Inclusive Leadership, Effective Communications, Facilitation Skills, Time management, Conflict resolution etc2.1) Project Management The sub topics on this section are good! However I think there needs to be more surrounding the various methodologies eg Iterative, Waterfall etc As intended to be short snappy and engaging. I’m sure the absence of depth encourages more secondary engagement to follow up with however whilst the initial content had me engaged, the lack of follow up had me deflated and somewhat disappointed. That being said; 5* for the app
Great app, a lot of issues to be ironed out

They state that they respond to feedback to fix things but they unfortunately haven’t fixed any of the feedback I’ve given. One of the answers to a question is so long it doesn’t fit in the box, so I have no idea what the correct answer is and therefore can’t learn this topic fully… there are many questions with typos that still haven’t been fixed.Okay so initially I wrote a very upset 1 star review, however I’ve decided to change this to a 4 star upon rethinking. The app is great, it has its positives, which is that there is soooo many different topics covered in one app that makes it feel like I can learn super fast. I’m currently doing a psychoanalysis pathway and it’s proving very informative and even offers several books to sink my teeth into. I also must add that they use a lot of AI generated images, many of which look tacky. (For example the classic mashed up fingers as well as generally weird perspectives) I wonder how much of the text is also ai generated. Sometimes the app can glitch, resulting in the rant I initially wrote; I was doing the superpower learning pathway and suddenly I login to find my progress wiped… my progress on other pathways was still showing but it was a pain that this pathway got wiped, hence the 1 star review. I’ve never had this issue with other learning apps like duolingo. Makes the entire app feel amateur to have a kick in the gut like this after a streak so long.
Great content, smooth delivery, strong retention system but very poor flashcards

Really enjoying Kinnu as a tool to dip my feet in a very wide range of topics. It's east to pick up, the content is well written and distilled, and the spaced repetition system works well.My biggest problem is that the flashcards are very poor. They don't actually target key concepts, but rather arbitrary facts and associations. I find myself ignorning most because they don't target what I find valuable to remember, and the need to make my own just increases. Concrete example: Q: Which of the following accurately describes the Norfolk crop rotation?A1: Challenged during the EnlightenmentA2: Agricultural practice from the second agricultural revolutionA3: Improved but imperfect after industrial changesNone of these tell me what the crop rotation is, what it does, or why it s important.I'd prefer something like: The C1(Norfolk four-course system) revolutionized agriculture by rotating C2(Wheat, Turnips, Barley, and Clover), which eliminated the need for C2(fallow / empty) land. That's how I would set up my own flashcard. Another example is one where I'm supposed to say what happened in a year, say 1492.I'm much less interested in knowing that Columbus's voyage happened in 1492, than I am in knowing why it's important. I wish there was a way to rate flashcards so they can hopefully be improved, but even editing ones did not actually prompt changes (even when editing was a genuine typo flag). Still a great app, but skipping most flashcards is what I end up doing.
No time wasting with Kinnu

I find Kinnu great on my long commutes. I use it instead of thinking how much time I waste. It’s made into little chunks that are easy to take in and remember and the quizzes reinforce the knowledge. It was my saviour in times of depression when I tended to procrastinate a lot. Not only did I learn a few things about psychology and how to deal with depression, I also felt better by doing something useful. Highly recommended!
