EpiCentr app is designed for individuals with seizure disorders and their caregivers. It’s intended to enhance safety and support during seizure episodes by alerting emergency contacts. It also includes a comprehensive journal to track seizures and detailed statistics reports for doctors.
The app actively monitors seizure-like triggers, promptly alerting your designated emergency contacts if a seizure is suspected. Specifically, our watch app utilizes Apple HealthKit to track user’s heart rate, while leveraging the gyroscope and accelerometer on Apple Watch to monitor the user's arm motion. If a seizure-like pattern is detected, an alert is promptly sent.
For immediate assistance or in case if Apple Watch is not available, manual alerts can be initiated directly from your iPhone. Additionally, the app allows you to maintain a detailed journal, effortlessly tracking triggers and recording side-effects, auras, and personal notes. Keeping all data at one place, the app provides reports with important descriptive statistics giving valuable insights to you and your healthcare provider.
KEY FEATURES AND HOW TO USE THE APP:
- Seizure Detection: By utilizing your Apple Watch, the app monitors various seizure-like triggers, such as motion patterns associated with tonic-clonic seizures, different types of falls, and abnormal heart rate. If any of these triggers are detected, the app initiates a delayed alert, which will be automatically sent to your emergency contacts if not manually canceled within 30 seconds. Set up automatic seizure monitoring by following the instructions provided in the app.
- Manual Alerts: Activate alerts instantly from your iPhone or Apple Watch. Choose between two alert types: Help Now, which sends an immediate notification, and Delayed Help, where a 30-second countdown is initiated before sending the alert if not canceled.
- GPS Location Sharing: When a help request is sent, the app automatically includes your GPS coordinates (if available) in the notifications sent to your emergency contacts. This crucial information enables them to locate you swiftly, ensuring timely and accurate assistance. Please grant location sharing permission to the app for this feature to function.
- Journal: Keep track of vital information about your seizures using the app's comprehensive journal. Effortlessly monitor triggers, record side-effects, track auras, and add personal notes. Seizure records are automatically captured, and you have the option to edit or add necessary details. Over time, the app consolidates all this essential data in one convenient location, providing you and your healthcare provider with detailed reports featuring important descriptive statistics.
- Roles: The app operates in two modes: one for individuals with seizure disorders and another for their caregivers.
Download the EpiCentr app now to experience a new level of confidence and security in managing seizures and seeking help when it matters most.

This app has given me the freedom to be able to go out on my own for the first time in years! I feel a lot more confident going out alone. Slight issue with the location; gets my home location wrong all the time which has caused issues on numerous occasions in finding me. This has also happened when I’ve been out and the company has called my family to tell them I have had a seizure and they’ve given them the wrong location for where I am and I’ve not been found for a long time. I’ve raised this issue numerous times and it’s still a problem after 2 years of asking for it to be fixed and this is a potentially fatal issue!

Hello! We completely reworked the entire geolocation module shortly after you first contacted us about it. A significant amount of work went into it. The location is now updated continuously in real time during an active alert, so Emergency Contacts can see it in the app. We were confident that the new module was working correctly. If you're still experiencing any issues, please write to us at support@epicentr.app. We will conduct a thorough investigation. Thank you!
Works for peace of mind but annoyingly messes with Apple Watch functionality.

So I’ve recently started having seizures during the night/ whilst sleeping. This app was great at first for giving my husband and family some peace of mind. However I have the following notes for the developers, so that the person using the watch still gets the normal functionality of the watch. So 1) night/sleep mode - as my seizures only happen during sleep I have the Epicentr app on at night but the darkest I can set the app still has light which disturbs my sleep. 2) that night/ sleep mode needs to link to the watch’s natural sleep tracking. So far when I use the Epicentr app when I sleep alone, my watch tracks every movement in my sleep as activity and I’ve completed all my activity rings by the time I’ve made my breakfast and sat down at my desk in the morning. This app is doing something so important and I’m so grateful for it but it’s just not entirely well planned for people who need it overnight not just in the day.

Misreading heart rate consistently
3Holegamers
I have the app on my Apple Watch, and I am having constant issues with the heart rate monitoring. A few minutes ago, the app somehow read my heart rate as going over 160, and was consistently starting the alert timer after cancelling it constantly for two minutes, even though my watch was only read my bpm as 140 after walking uphill for 5 minutes. This morning, the alarm got sent off halfway through a car ride when I was sat still. I’ve also had it reading seizures at night despite not having them. I have false alerts most days, which if don’t realise, makes my family worry when they get sent the alert. Of course, this isn’t a world ending issue as it’s better to get too many alerts than not recognise actual seizures, but it is still very annoying.

I have no words for how much I love this app. Without it, I wouldn’t be alive to write this review. The app informs my loved ones and close friends within SECONDS of me entering a seizure, allowing them time to reach me when seconds are critical. The seizure detection is phenomenal and is worth x10 what I pay monthly. I will always be in debt to the developers of this app, because they have saved my life on multiple occasions.
