SDR-Control Mobile is an exceptional app and easily one of the best tools available for radio enthusiasts using the Icom IC-705 and other compatible radios. It works flawlessly on my iPhone — smooth, stable, and incredibly responsive. The connection to the IC-705 is seamless, and operating remotely has never been easier or more enjoyable. The user interface is thoughtfully designed, striking a perfect balance between functionality and ease of use. The real-time waterfall display is fast and sharp, tuning is precise, and the app provides full control over the radio. One of the standout features is the newly added SSTV decode support — it works beautifully and adds even more versatility to the app. The integrated logging, CAT control, and overall attention to detail make it feel like a full-featured SDR station in the palm of your hand. What’s equally impressive is the regular stream of updates and improvements. The developer is clearly committed to refining and enhancing the app over time, which makes it even more of a worthwhile investment. If you own an IC-705 or any of the compatible radios and want true portable SDR control, this is absolutely the app to get.

I am using this with a cellular modem at the radio end and a little iPhone SE. The “trick” to using an all cellular setup is to run Tailscale, which is a free VPN system. T/S gives you a fixed IP address and can create a subnet with the addition of a humble Raspberry Pi. With the above you enter the IP address shown on your radio regardless of CGNAT, cellular IP address changes, etc. There is a free Tailscale app for the iPhone. The Tailscale web pages cover all the above in great detail. One tip, use the free “ping” app to make sure you can reach your radio before buying this app.The app itself is amazing, you even see the memories stored in your radio as markers on the spectrum display on the iPhone.

I have only recently started using the app which I'm doing on both the iPhone and iPad but before this used the app for Flex radios. Very impressive, the ability to control the radio from an iOS device is great but add on CW decoding and sending that works, FT4 & FT8 and you have a very light and portable system. I’m hoping that Marcus will add more modes and features in the future and the app goes from strength to strength. As I write this I'm sitting in the middle of a field in a camper van happily working FT8 on 40M with the IC705 and a mobile whip.
Excellent! Brilliant!

This is one bloomin’ good app. Have used the Mac version for a couple of years now and was overjoyed when Marcus produced versions for IOS. They are rock steady and work seamlessly. Have been sitting in the sun today, 178 miles away from my IC-705, working the world via a 4G connection. Can’t fault the IOS version in any way. Absolutely brilliant and worth the slightly high purchase price. But if that helps further development it’s a worthwhile investment! How about incorporating a tool for WSPR Marcus?Nick 2E0FGQ
This update contains the following changes and improvements:
◉ SSTV: Robot 36 pictures (the mode the ISS sends) came out green and only showed their left half; fixed, together with other modes that were slanted or shifted sideways
◉ SSTV: pictures start in the right place by themselves, and the start of a picture is recognised with weaker signals and when the receiver is tuned up to 100 Hz off
◉ SSTV: every mode can now be sent, including Robot 36, Robot 72, Robot 24 and PD-50 to PD-290
◉ SSTV: the sender's call sign (FSK ID) is shown again
◉ Antenna Genius: the antenna buttons work again with firmware 4.1.9; a tap selects the receive antenna, while transmitting the transmit antenna
◉ Power Genius XL: changing the remote access code works; Rotator Genius: rotator names are saved correctly
◉ PSK Reporter: changing the time, band or mode in the filter now loads the list again
◉ Network Stats: a Saved Radios section shows whether each of your saved radios answers, also while not connected
◉ Radio list: a dot before each radio shows whether it answers, and its address is shown below the name
◉ iPhone Duo: the large radio screen on the open Duo now reaches under the tab bar at the right; Center, the level slider and the zoom buttons are at the left
◉ iPhone Duo: after folding or unfolding, the radio screen shows the radio's values at once (it showed placeholders until the next change)
◉ iPhone Duo: on the open Duo in portrait, View and Disconnect now work from the (…) button
◉ iPhone Duo: the modes and tools fill the whole width, and their settings open at their full width
◉ Implemented several additional improvements and optimizations behind the scenes
