Works ok for a few days on my iPad then once again starts up and freezes. Delete and reinstall yet again. Very frustrating.

Very poor performance

The app works quite badly. I am a subscriber, but:Most times it does not download content when using the specific app function.Design is poor: when managing to “download content” in reality you can only download the front cover of news. So when out of data coverage, it delivers a very restricted content experience.I have contacted El País support & have received the same message as I can read here in response to many similar comments: to delete & reinstall. Done many times, still it does not work! So please action & stop hiding behind this tech excuse.Also, while being a paying customer, I am regularly asked to accept cookies from their 800 “partners”. So I am forced to regularly repeat my rejection of this. Why can’t El País keep on record my choices? I feel it betrays me as a user, because I view my payment as a way to avoid having my personal data being collected & sold to everyone. But it seems that El País wants to make us pay twice, with our money & also with our personal data.The app is the worst performing one on my phone from day 1. I remain subscribed because I want to keep in touch with events in Spain, but my patience is running very thin. In contrast, The Guardian offers a great user experience.

It is impossible to leave once subscribed. I have now emailed 6 times and every month they steal my money. I even froze my bank card for a whole month and they tried every day to collect the subscription. This is theft at this stage as there is no way to cancel without calling them on the phone, I am unable to do this as I live in another country and only tried a subscription as I am learning to read Spanish. They have now taken €66 in total from me and not responding to any of my emails. Whatever about their news coverage, they are not a company I want anything to do with any more.
