It’s a fantastic app with a great community. I can spend hours reading and it’s inspiring me to do some writing myself. I have been using whatpadd for months and don’t get bored because every story is different. It’s also great to give and get feedback from the other users. It’s even open minded and when it asks for your pronouns it has a third option other than he/him or she/herI would give it 5 stars but when I got my new phone I logged in and it was fine at first but then I realised that it had kicked me out of my iPad (it’s not just that it only logs in on one device at a time because it worked on my old phone) It would be fine apparat from the fact that it didn’t accept my password to get back in. So I tried resetting it from my phone but then it kicked me off that too. I understand that if you change your password it might log you off so you have to put the new one in but it said that my password was wrong, I tried my old one but it said that was wrong too. I tried resetting it with the “forgot password” button, it said I had been sent an email telling me what to do but I never received one. I’ve waited plenty and my internet is fine, I’m positive that I typed my email correctly and yes, I have checked the junk mail. I have tried quite a few times to get it to send but I never receive anything.I would make a new account but I have stories I have started writing that I would like to finish and started reading others that I can’t remember the name of or which chapter I was on.If you could fix the bug and let me back into the account I would be very happy, thanks. Other than that I’d highly recommend.

I have had Wattpad for a number of years now and it has been a great start for me as a writer to begin my journey. It gave me inspiration to write different types of stories, both fanfic and original, and has also given me tips on how to better my literature. I really do love this app as it has opened my mind to many different forms of writing and media. HOWEVER, in the last year or two I, and many others, have noticed that this app is being taken over by profit. The reduction of how many offline books you can have, and the increase of advertising is frustrating. It used to that you’d have ads every couple pages, which was fine because you could bypass them by manually clicking on a new chapter or closing Wattpad and reopening it. However, now the ads are after every SINGLE page and are impossible to avoid unless you buy the premium. People shouldn’t have to spend their money just to read a piece of work. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve had to offline books and read them with no wifi, just to be able to read them uninterrupted. It is disappointing to see how Wattpad has become so money hungry. Also, the inclusion of the new social feed was unnecessary and frustrating as every time I want to quickly look at my notifications, I have to scroll past that feed. I hope Wattpad will actually listen to us for once and improve themselves rather than just ignoring our simple requests.

I have been a loyal Wattpad user for a good decade now, and have loved every single function of it, the interaction you have with the readers and authors, the findings of books, the wide range of genres— it all worked smoothly, and it’s something that’s been treasured greatly. However, the new update is forcing me to move towards other apps to fulfil my reading desire.I adored Wattpad, and loved how everything functioned. Was it a pain when they introduced ads? Yes, but you worked with it. Was it a pain when they added Paid Stories? Yes, but you learnt to work around it. However, this new update? When you can only have TWO stories offline? A confusing, non-cohesive home page? Ads being everywhere, including inside the book? An upscaled and unfitting library? It doesn’t work. It’s incredibly upsetting to witness an app that has been so well loved and cared for, go down this route where it now only cares about monetary profit and becoming a corporation, in this capitalism way. It’s not only me who feels this way. Literally none of it works cohesively anymore nor does it make life for the reader easier. If Wattpad could, please change it to something similar to what it was before. I’m grossed out by the new non-functioning Wattpad. Would have recommended the ‘old’ Wattpad to anyone and everyone who would have listened. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend the new Wattpad to anyone.
