Time Master can track both time and expenses. You can track time using start and stop times, duration, and/or timers. All time entries are tracked for a single day, so time entries cannot be greater than 24 hours. It will allow you to time across days, for example if you start a job at 8 p.m. and finish at 2 a.m., it will have a duration of 6 hours.
Expenses can be setup for recurring fixed cost items, such as burning a CD, reimbursement of hardware items, or fluid things such as toll expenses, automobile mileage, etc.
Quick reporting can be done on the iPhone / iPod Touch with the Reports function. The report can be emailed in an HTML and/or CSV format.
Adding new Clients, Projects, Tasks and Expenditures is super easy. You can create them on the fly without having to navigate to a separate maintenance screen. To edit them you can tap on Setup, do you edit and then return to where you left off in Time Entries or Expenses. By selecting a Project or Task first will automatically fill in the Client field for quick entry.

I have been using this for a decade now and it has never missed a beat. It is used throughout my business by all field and office personnel, and anyone who temps with us is encouraged to use this app for time sheets and/or billing. First up, it is comprehensive and will take a bit of setting up if you want to get the best out of it. Once you have, though, you will wonder how you ever got on without it. Sync between iPad and iPhone is optional. Managing invoicing, getting paid, reports - all can be done inside the app. Anyone who is self employed or who runs a consultancy, anything that is time-based billing need look no further than this app. I’ve not found anything that beats this, and believe me, I have tried a lot!

Update4: Jun 26. Still using every day. Never crashed. Never failed or lost data. Update3: Jan 18. Still going strong. Still never crashed. Regularly updated. Have recommended it far and wide and all have been delighted. It does exactly what you want it to do with no fuss. Particularly pleased that it updated to ios11 so easily and I see it’s now iPhone X ready - but I have not tested that. Update2: Jan 17. Still using this day in day out. Has never ever crashed on me. Ever. Cannot recommend highly enough. Update1: I originally wrote the text below in April 2009 and because I have used the app to record my billing every working day since then (now Jan 2012) I just wanted to say that it really is a fantastic app. The developers also seem keen to continue working on it and I have never had any outage / problems in just under 3 years. As before, can't recommend highly enough. As before, I have never bothered to write a review about any other app! PS I've now scrolled to the bottom of the reviews it strikes me just how many others have said they don't write reviews but have for this product, and that others have been impressed with the developer support (the transatlantic phone call does not surprise me, see below). I should also say to Peter that you should persevere. You don't need any in-app purchases (I have none) and it is really intuitive just add your 1st entry with your 1st client, your 1st task, and start and stop time. Really is easy. ---- i have a few iphone apps, this is the first time i felt moved to write a review. put simply, this is an excellent, easy to use, app that makes it super easy to record billing details 'on the go'. the interface is attractive and very easy to navigate. the reports (including by email) are generated without any hassle. what is more, the support i encountered was fantastic: i made one proposal to the team (allowing the export of start and stop time data) and it was implemented in the software within 3 days. can't recommend highly enough. el t.

I have been waiting years for something like this - a piece of business software whereby I can enter the hours on a job, push a button and it works everything out, sticks it in the right column and creates a professional-looking emailable PDF invoice within seconds.I can't find anything wrong with this software, especially at the price. It supports multiple clients, you can enter individual rates for particular jobs and even round hours up or down to a specific time. VAT is worked out automatically if required.To anyone who has rated this low, then I can only say that you haven't spent long enough working out all the features. I must admit, I found it a bit confusing at first, but now I have got to grips with it I am really pleased with how it functions. Good business software is there to save you time and effort - this does exactly that. Highly recommended.
