Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
An outstanding app; robust, reliable and very versatile. I’ve been using this for many years now as it’s better than anything else. The maps are clear and have the added benefit of showing topology which makes them easy to read. You can record your own track and share it, or download a track and follow it, or use the excellent in built navigation functionality. Being able to use the maps offline is another major advantage, especially when using the app in remote locations. And also being able to sync the folders, tracks and data across devices is also really useful. The user support is quick and helpful too, but the app works so well you won’t need to call on their help :-)
Best mapping solution

Have used this app now for around 12 years when it was Galileo mapping. Use it for mapping cycle race routes around the country for professional events and other similar work related things - then drive / ride using the map. It is by far the best all in one route mapping app. Works on IPhone / IPad, mapping details are excellent and route plotting is a doddle. As with all mapping software doesn’t let you contravene a one way / no entry as we sometimes do on races (closed road) so I simply record it as a walking route. If you are after a similar mapping solution I have no qualms in highly recommending this as the go to solution.

I tried this app years ago as a free version with I think one country map and then paid for the Pro version. It has been great to use, not as fancy as some of the expensive mapping apps but as a straight forward offline map app it is great. Wherever I travel in the world I download the country maps and they have been very useful. They are always up to date and very detailed. There are a lot of options for online maps too which are very good for hiking. It is my go to app when outside the UK and a back up in the UK.

I've had this since it had another name. I live in the UK and I have always liked the OS maps: I have their app too. And ... I sort of wish they'd get together with Guru maps and use the vastly better Guru maps interface with their map data.And that's the only thing wrong with it: it doesn't have access to certain very expensive data for obvious reasons. Otherwise it's just a great app.
