Blue Letter Bible is, without question, the finest free Bible study app I’ve used. What sets it apart is the superb interlinear concordance, which allows you to drill down from the English text into the original Hebrew and Greek with just a few taps. Being able to trace words through Strong’s Concordance, examine the lexicons, and see how the same word is used throughout Scripture adds an incredible depth to personal study. The app also provides an outstanding range of study resources that would normally require an extensive theological library: multiple Bible translations, parallel Bible views, trusted commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, cross references, word studies, audio resources, highlighting, note-taking, and much more. Everything is integrated in a way that makes serious Bible study accessible to everyone. What I appreciate most is that the focus is on helping you understand God’s Word rather than trying to sell subscriptions or premium features. Whether you’re preparing a sermon, studying for apologetics, or simply wanting to understand Scripture more deeply, Blue Letter Bible is an exceptional resource. I recommend it wholeheartedly to every Christian, or seeker of truth, who wants to move beyond simply reading the Bible to truly studying it.

The one area that I have found weak is the search function. Google is my ‘go to’ for that. Otherwise this is an ‘as expected’ bible app. You can have side by side comparisons of different translations and you can switch them in and out as required. The companion website has numerous study tools. It works well and, apart from the weakness of the inbuilt search feature it deserves 5 stars. Also, it’s the only bible app I have experience of so take that as you will!

The overall app is estimable and easy to use when you understand it. What makes this app great is the fact it has a strongs concordance and bible lexicon. For the past 3-4 years, I've used it for apologetics, street ministry, talking one-on-one with people and showing them biblical truths to their questions and Greek original meaning and context. I also use it for personal study when I read. The only annoyance I have with the app is that it looks like it's from 2000, it’s outdated, it needs better animations and smothers transitions, and there must be a way to hide the bottom dock or remove it because it is clunk... at least you can customise how it looks. Still, I wish there was an option to remove some tools and UI that I don’t care to use, or when I scroll, they fade out or something. UI-wise, compared to other bible apps, they are significantly behind, but in tools, no bible app has this type of sophistication. It would be a 5 star if they went to the drawing board and cleaned out some dated things or created a new interface while also keeping some valuable features— make it more visually appealing to use, and seamless, allowing more customisations like removing tools on bottom toolbars or removing them completely, and smother transition, but generally, they update their apps frequently, but we need more than just new translations of bibles BLB Amen

Amazing resource to easily access on the phone. I especially enjoy having two different translations and comparing them and meditating on the words. I enjoy language and finding the root words and similarities within how the Biblical authors chose to express God’s word is fascinating. One slight improvement would be the commentary section. I find it challenging to read through them due to the formatting and organisation of the app. But overall I’m happy that this easily accessible tool exists.
