Given the criminal attitude of sewage discharge in Britain this superb app can literally save your life . We are open water swimmers , canoe and snorklers …. And have two dogs …. Visit the beaches in Scotland weekly and on holiday bum around in our Stealth Truck around Northumberland other surf bum and mush rider locations . We are self employed so getting ill from criminal sewage dumping not only leads to ill health but could loose us our business if we can’t get over it and don’t want to subject our dogs to others cretinous behaviour so they can profiteer … so please keep up the fantastic work and my MP for Berwick upon Tweed is next on my list for a chat about the unbelievable amounts of deliberate daily sewage discharges whilst the company pay dividends ….

It’s great to have an app with all the information together. However the ratings can be very hit or miss. Went out yesterday with “Fair to Good” conditions. It was not fair, very choppy, waves were a lot bigger than expected, extremely hard paddle out. I would say it’s 50/50 with accuracy.Me and my friend had a good idea for an update. It could give you a short survey to find out what sort of waves you like, what size you ride etc. Then if you go you can also rate the wave on how close to the conditions you like personally. The app could log this and over time build a database of what sort of wave you like. Then it can give you feedback on future waves of how close to your ideal conditions it is. I think there should be some research into how different beaches form waves and what sort of waves they form at different tides. Then it could also give you beach recommendations, for example a little section at the top of the page where it says “X beach is closest to your ideal conditions, at this tide time”. There would be setting for this to say only tell you beaches within X amount of miles from you to prevent you from being recommend beaches on the other side of the country. I think there should be a comments section where anyone can say what they think about the waves to help others figure out where to go. These features would make it a lot easier for beginners and new people in the community to have better sessions and have more improvement. Obviously this would be a big update and take a lot of time/money but I think it would be incredibly beneficial for everyone, with the recent advancements in AI this could be made a lot easier to produce. Obviously would be a premium feature and I personally wouldn’t mind paying more than £50/year for these features and I think generally most people would agree.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the forecasts/reports! I live too far from the surf to check it out in person, so Surfline is a lifesaver. The forecasts are usually pretty good. Sometimes not quite as good, sometimes better, but never completely wrong. I really like the idea of being able to send live updates when you get to a spot too and really shows your commitment to improving even more. The playback on the videos is pretty awesome too. If you can get some zoom on them, then we’d be cooking. Well worth the price and I’ve been really impressed with the switch from Magic Seaweed (which was also very good)

Surfline is my lifeline when it comes to surfing, I’ve used the standard version and I’ve used the standard and the premium version is worth every penny! I also used to use Magic Seaweed before it merged, and Surfline definitely has its perks with one of my favourites being all of the notifications I get for different articles from around the world, the streams of the major comps and also when the surf’s great. Their continuous updates are great with bits getting added every month. Also love their series like Maps To Nowhere and Weird Waves. Thank you for everything Surfline!!
