MyMazda 4+

I’ve used this App since purchasing my car in 2021. It works very well when transmitting my instructions to the car, eg climate control, HOWEVER
It has the following drawbacks:-
1. Slow to refresh the vehicle status, despite several ‘pull-downs”.
2. When you clear a Notification from the Remote screen it does not remove it from the Messages List. In order to clear it you have to tap on the 3bars at top right of screen, then access Message Centre, scroll across the screen to find the category of your message, and tap three more buttons delete it. WHY??

When it is working as it should it is painfully slow. Trying to refresh the screen to see the charging status of my MX-30 can take several minutes. That’s before we touch the biggest floor of all.

When wanting to stop a charging session you need to go into the My Mazda App and stop the charging session as there is no way to do this in the vehicle (which is crazy). If you don’t do this and simply unlock the car and remove the cable, the contacts arc burning the connector and probably the charging port. So the only way to stop this happening is by using the app which only works 90% of the time. There have been numerous occasions where I have been stood next to the car unable to disconnect the charging cable as doing so would cause damage.

The only way you seem to be able to get around this major floor is to go into the vehicle charging settings and change the max charge level to less than your current charge state and most of the time (but not every time) that will stop the charging session. Not exactly an elegant solution!

The app should have a live connection to the car over cellular / WiFi when away from the car and a direct connection either via WiFi or Bluetooth to the car when you are with the vehicle. If this was done that would address the safety issues and make the app significantly more useable.

Have been using the app now for the last few weeks with my new Mazda 3. One of the best features there is is being able to ping and locate the car. Ability to send notifications when the door has been opened. So not that I want to try but if it were to be stolen I’d hope to track it. Being able to send destinations to the car is good. Some improvements such as linking to the car manual and perhaps linking in with the maps website to notify when map updates are available to be downloaded. Overall I like the design. Good work!
