This is not only the best knot tying tutor you could ever wish to find in an app but it is definitely one of the very best learning apps I have ever come across. I’ve had this for years now and the gradual adjustments they have made to the presentation have consistently improved from what was already a very clear tutorial. The information about the knots and their uses is so well directed and animated it’s almost worth a loud round of applause. Not only that but they have added knots as time has gone on so there are now loads of solutions for any scenario. Take my word for it, this is the dogs doodads..

Couldn’t tie a knot before to save my life, not even my shoe laces. But this app is an excellent instructor. It’s easy easy peasy to watch and imitate. As well as a sliding speed setter, you can scrub your finger over the image to wind back and forth at your preferred rate to scrutinise the knot technique. That is essential if, like me, you’re one of those slow learners who doesn’t hold the motion in your head no matter how slowly the process completes. What is there not to like. The developers have thought of everything. Finally, at sixty five years, I can now tie my shoe laces!
Developer Response
Try sliding/scrubbing your finger back and forth over the knot image. You’ll see that it acts as an “invisible” slider - slide right over the image to advance the animation or slide left to rewind. Cheers!

Wow, what a great app! I especially like the A.B.O.K. references and the explanations of usage and strengths for particular occasions. The ability to have the app draw the knot at a speed set by yourself and also go full screen is awesome. This has quickly become my favourite app and quite frankly I can't see how it could be improved upon. I suppose the call for more knots will always be there, but then where do you end?Brilliant!

I am a person that likes random things. So this app immediately stood out to me. But after a while this wasn’t just an app to help burn time. This actually became useful in day to day life. But know on to the gui etc… This app has user intuitive interface. Clear 3D view of the knot you are learning and has many categories with a variety of knots. One this I wish could be added is the feature where when you are looking in the not in full screen mode you can use one finger to make the knot rotate so you can look at it on all angles and then use two fingers to swipe to play the knot demo.But overall very nice app to learn knots. Would highly recommend.
