If you ever run out of ideas, get stuck in creativity or simply need some guidance when photographing people, you can use Posing App as a "posing cheat sheet". Many pro photographers use such a technique when preparing for and during the photo shoot. During a photo shoot don’t hesitate to discuss with your subjects which pose is or isn’t working in any particular situation. It’s very productive and you will feel more confident in what you are doing.
Merged in the practical mobile app format, all of the included poses in Posing App come with easy to understand descriptions and expressive hand drawn illustrations. In contrast to using real photos as samples, illustrations are only body outlines, so it's very simple for a model to understand and recreate the pose. Illustrations aren't in any way restrictive either, the model can be creative and come up with different variants on her own. Initial pose works simply as guidance for something to start with.
A variety of posing categories are available in Posing App: Children, Couples, Women, Men, Groups and Weddings. Over 300 poses are included offering a wide choice in any modeling scenario. A special Glamour section is available as in-app purchase including additional 86 carefully selected glamour poses for female models. I like this app a lot. Some reviews of a previous version are saying it's expensive. Compared to similar books it's pretty cheap. Yes, all these drawings can be found on the internet, but not as browsable as the app, and the 'favourite' facility means you can select a set you want to use for a particular shoot and then work through them using your favourites list as a reference. You can sit and browse these with a model, and home in on the ones you want. Even with the in app purchase of the glamour poses it still comes in as a pretty inexpensive resource. I love the fact that these are drawings not example photos. That really helps with removing the expectation that a model needs to look similar to a model in the photo, and a drawing isn't tied to particular light settings. The drawings are generic and boil the pose down to it's essentials as a pose (not about models or lights). The style of the drawings - expressive and minimalist, but attractive and arty - is perfect. Someone really thought about this, and it really paid off.

Very helpful. Bought app after seeing article on developers website. It's nice to have the poses simplified into pencil drawings, it keeps in mind what's important - the pose. I could look at photographs depicting these poses all day and just find them distracting. I love the delivery method used in this app.People complain about having to pay for this app! Really?? This is gonna up my game considerably and it's well worth the £2 investment into my future as a photographer.Even bought the glamour poses in-app for an extra £1.49, 'cause why not? I'd hardly call investing less than 4 quid into my job 'setting fire to money' as one reviewer suggested.Top marks from me: 5/5 stars.

For an app that costs £5 it seems to have been abandoned. There aren’t that many poses and it hasn’t been optimised for iPhone X.

Better than any lectures I've seen on posing. Sketches easier to replicate than looking at other peoples photos. Getting good poses in your photos are really hard & this is a great app to guide you. As a photographer I do many of them already but love having the ideas in one place & I think it will enable me to refine my technique. Thank you for a great app.
