I bought this app more than 5 years ago and I do love listening to how Scourby reads the Bible. It’s fantastic for that. I think the app is reasonably well made even though much hasn’t changed in that time apart from more demands for money. That’s the reason I’m giving it a single star. When I paid for it I could create my own playlists and listen to them. Now I’m being asked to pay £5.99 EVERY YEAR just to listen to the same playlists!! The Bible is not changing so this move to subscription for something so trivial is ill-advised in my opinion. If the app was free then I’d understand. But it’s not. What am did I pay for if I can’t use simple basic functions like this? Conclusion, it’s a good app but not worth what is being asked for it at the moment.

I’m giving this app 5 stars purely because having the Scourby recordings of him reading the KJV is absolute essential, not because of the mediocre app, or criminal extras after paying nearly £20 for the app.Firstly, you will not find a better audio Bible than that of Scourby, he is without a doubt the voice of the AV. And with these Higher quality audio files, one can enjoy listening to the AV anytime any where, and it’s a joy to have with just a few clicks away on your iPhone. I cannot speak higher of these recordings.The app it’s self is not great, and tbh should probably be redesigned for ease of use, there are plenty of free Bible app out there that tower over this one. It also feels extremely dated. Also, paying almost £20 for the app itself can be forgiven since the Scourby recordings are indispensable, but then having recurring extras is absolutely criminal. I mean the 3 separate reading plans you charge for are one Google click away, so not exclusive enough to warrant the charge. And then charging for simple functions like loop, speed and even back up and restore. Surely £20 for the app itself you should include these basic functions. It’s nothing more than greed.But I can ignore the faults and cons because this audio Bible is above and beyond, and to have it on my iPhone in a few clicks is fantastic, and I encourage anyone to start using the Scourby recordings, he truly was the voice of the Bible.
Removed functions and now want to charge AGAIN

Disgusting behaviour from this developer.I paid a lot of money for this app. Then last night I tried to set the sleep timer which I had been using since I purchased it only to receive a message saying it was a subscription feature now. Checking on the apple app store I saw they have updated the app to a subscription service. The developers have taken away a function that was part of my original purchase and now tell me I have to pay again. Every year another payment!Is this developer honourable?Will this developer remove more of my paid for features to get further money.As the Bible says, the love of money is the root of all evil.AndLet your yea be yea and your nay,nayMy advice to the developer- honour what customers have paid for. If you want to change your pricing model be upfront with NEW customers and they will know what to expect. But honour what customers previously paid for.
Scourby is Excellent, but the App is terrible

Clunky, outdated, in need of attention. And for the amount of money it cost, and for the amount of money that each feature costs annually, you would think the developer could at least make an effort in bringing it up-to-date.That said, Alexander Scourby himself is tremendous.
