Brilliant app all round, a few friends and I have been using it to log our scores for a while now and it has been working great for us. Unfortunately a small local course that we often play was not included on the app, I requested via email if there was any way of adding it and the lovely team got back to me within hours, and despite it only being a tiny 1500 yard 9 holes, they were more than happy to add it. It was included in the app within a day of me first asking.

The Grint’s really good for GPS on the course, and keeping track of stats has a really intuitive interface that allows them to be easily input while on the course (meaning you’re not holding up your fellow players while faffing around on your phone too much!) The accumulative stats from all your rounds are then broken down and presented smartly, which allows you to see which parts of your game are strengths or weaknesses, so you know what to focus on improving. Where it’s let down a bit is the handicap calculation section. For all the courses I’m playing here in Scotland, the Course Ratings and Slope ratings are wildly inaccurate when compared to the official course database on the R&A website (or to courses’ own websites). This obviously leads to the round differentials being calculated incorrectly, and ultimately your WHS Handicap Index is wrong. I’m only using the handicap tracker to get an unofficial one to play amongst friends. Other apps allow you to manually adjust the course/slope ratings if you see they’re wrong. I get that this could lead to manipulation of your handicap index, but it’s frustrating not being able to get an accurate one in the first place! Improvements to the handicap tracker (course/slope ratings) would tick this app up to a five star beezer, no bother!

Really like this app and it’s perfect for knowing my yard to the front and tee on the green. I also like the fact you can pair up with other players so you can score together. One thing I would like to see added is a pin drop (or a golf ball) where you’re ball has landed. Stand by your ball and drop a pin on the app for every shot. Once the hole or course is complete you can then look back and see where certain shots have let you done in a tight angle or rougher terrain. This can then be monitored over the more times you play and will also show is your hitting the ball further from a drive or iron. 💪🏽

I introduced TheGrint to members of our golf society where we relied on one individual to maintain everyone’s handicaps. The Society HCP was drifting away from the WHS HCP and this became an issue . By introducing TheGrint each player managed his own HCP and a new positive attitude towards a belief in the validity of each player’s ranking .TheGrint had proved to be extremely popular amongst the group and Customer Service is so cool and personal helping us with questions like “how do we organise competitions etc” Highly recommend this app and the people behind it
