Perfect for people with little time

This is my first review on the App Store, because I usually don’t write any. After using Blinkist for almost a year now and being very happy, I thought they deserve good feedback. I think the subscription to this is totally worth it. I am often interested in books and start reading them, but because I have little time next to my job, I then struggle to actually finish them. This is perfect for me, because I get the gist of a book within 15-30 min, which is often all I want. With the audio feature I can even listen to the Blinks while going somewhere. I kind of enjoy the listening function more anyways, because the readers do an amazing job at telling the stories in an entertaining and catching way. I can’t say much about how much Blinkist adds to the summary of the books based on their own opinion, but it sounds like it‘s kept very impartial. I will definitely extend my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work!

Good app serving useful way to step out of the swamp that is the online world

Herbert the magnificent
Aug ‘24 .. still a good app with regular updates. Some functionality I’m just not interested in as I just want a quite calming reading experience where I can leave the growing mess that is internet behind. Overall Blinkist is quite good for this but recently I am finding the UI is not feeling quite as smooth flowing as was .. and I have been experiencing multiple crashes mid-read, I struggle to get rid of the audio reader tab at the bottom of the screen and when scrolling the text movement is jerky / jumpy which is REALLY distracting and annoying (Maybe the latest release fixes this?) but overall the concept is good. My wish is to focus solidly on performance and smooth calming user experience and don’t just add unnecessary functions for the sake of it —— 31 January : I was just about to update this review to say the app still does not work but thought I would delete and reinstall .. and now it works :) … so if anyone is having issues on ipad, this action may be worth a shot! ——— Have been using for nearly year and is overall pretty good. Works well is simple and clear and above all adds value. Where the detail is not enough then I have enough information to make an informed decision about whether to order the full book or not. Great 👍

Great for people with ADHD

I love this. Its essentially what people with ADHD have to do daily - try and focus on the key outtakes of something from all the waffle and flannel surrounding it. Which is immensely tiring. And then I stumbled on Blinkist. The book ‘Sapiens’ has been downloaded on my Kindle for ages and is one of the books I really wanted to read (and I read A LOT!), but I just hadn’t got round to it - parsing that much information and sifting through it to get to the key outtakes was an exhausting thought. But I listened to its Blinks while making breakfast this morning. And I could rewind any bits I realised my ADHD brain had suddenly switched off for! I’ve never written an app review before (and I’m a lifelong Apple user!), but I’m so excited by this app and its service I was prompted to do so. All that knowledge held in the palm of my hand and digested, quite literally, in a bitesize…who wouldn’t want that?!
