So far I love this programme. I actually look forward to the lessons and I love my group! Yes, you get a group! At first I thought I would ignore the group, wasn’t what I signed up for, quite allergic to social media, almost never go on FB, but it turns out I love having a gang of fellow travellers on this journey! Lots of identification, kindness, compassion, authenticity, wisdom, humour... My group has become quite central to the whole experience for me. And because it’s international it’s wildly interesting to get a window into other people’s lives (and recipes!) both at home and abroad. I’m only a month in (8lbs down which I’m thrilled about) but the real proof for me will be once I’ve lost the weight (another 13lbs to go) as that’s probably when I’ll need Noom the most. Also, I’m very impressed that Noom offer a sliding scale. I pay more than the minimum but really you can join for peanuts... I suggest giving it a go, but know it’s a collaboration. Noom won’t do it for you... You have to show up and do the lessons. It’s a training. There is hunger involved sometimes. Weight loss is just not easy. I feel like I have finally accepted that and it’s made all the difference... Not easy, but immensely rewarding, not just the weight loss but also the delicious food I’m preparing and eating without anxiety or guilt. I am really enjoying my food and I’m becoming a much better cook! Perfect lockdown challenge. All good. Yay Noom...

Nearly 2 months in and I have lost 11lb. I can’t rate Noom highly enough, I honestly think it’s life changing. I do think you need to be in the right head space to commit but that said, I joined on a whim really & then thought ‘oh gosh, I’ve joined a diet App, I’d better get on with it’! But the time was right for me, kids gone to college, more time etc. What I love is that Noom works on your mind and allows you to make up your own rules to fit your lifestyle. They don’t TELL you what to do. The daily ‘lessons’ are really interesting and you get the most out of it if you don’t skim read, but note some ideas down on paper & really THINK how it applies to you. They work on you recognising where you aren’t quite getting it right & encourage better habits to take forward so that you can keep the weight off. They are very against yo-yo dieting where you shift the weight, then put it straight back on. The Group chat is really encouraging and I have now developed a completely new mindset which I can take forward. I now think completely differently about food. It’s so refreshing and I’ve not felt this buoyant, this good about myself and this positive about ‘me’ for many years. Been perfectly happy BUT this makes me think I can do it & move to a new me, who isn’t just accepting that I will always be too heavy. I honestly think it is fantastic & it’s great that it’s on your phone. I think Noom is my new religion! They make you believe in your own power to change things & alter the way you think about food for good.

I’m nearly 40 and over the last 6 weeks I’ve lost 13lb 3oz. I have another 7 stone to go but the set up and information is fantastic I’m learning so much and how to do it differently. I have M.E and can’t go to the gym so eating sensibly and calorie counting and step counting is perfect. One great thing I’ve learnt is to swap white pasta, rice bread for brown. This is because brown is higher in fibre and fibre takes longer to break down leaving you fuller for longer. It teaches you about green, yellow and red foods and how much of each is ideal. There is no deprivation and it’s 100% sustainable. For the first 2 weeks I just had a personal coach but after that I also have a group coach and a group of about 38 other people who have also joined. I appreciate they are mostly in America where Noom is based but I don’t need immediate responses. Still my coach answer regularly and is a real person! I understand he has a script to follow and a path to guide me on but he actually responses appropriately and comments back on things I’ve said or asked. There is a daily information pack to work through of about 10 minutes. You don’t have to do it the same day but it’s easier to keep on top of if you do. You can save pages to review later. There’s a recipe part which I have got a lot out of especially the pita party pizzas which have helped me a lot as I enjoy pizza. They help you psychologically with why you eat the way you do and how to deal with the wall or the plateau. I couldn’t recommend enough.

I was struggling to work out how to lose weight and don’t agree with diets. Since lockdown I’d put on about a stone and was not happy at all with how I felt or looked. Clothes weren’t fitting nice and my face was chubby. I’ve loved Noom since day 1! I paid roughly about the same as a gym membership (or less) and definitely less than what a slimming club would cost. I love getting weighed daily instead of weekly as you can keep an eye on fluctuations and not be disappointed by them. The psychology lessons are really helpful and have given me some good tips. Logging the food I eat is easy even as a vegan. If something isn’t in the app then you can add it using the nutritional information on your packaging. The range of units is great too, cups, grams, ounces, measuring spoons etc. It’s great that you can keep track of your exercise too and link your fitness device or phone. The online classes are extensive and you can even sync them to your smart TV. If you want to try it I would recommend getting weighed first the way you would get weighed daily (first thing after going to the loo with no clothes on) and I would also recommend seeing if you can get a friend referral for a discount. I’m already over 10lbs down in about 10 weeks and fitting into clothes I’ve not fit into for years. Go on, give it a go! What have you got to lose? Weight!!! 😍👍
