Updated review (that is now *****) to my updated review: I am now in comics heaven having finally managed to get YACReader on my iPad to do what I wanted it to do - connect wirelessly to my iMac and RAID server and see all of the comics stored there and then read them as I wish without ever having to download them onto my iPad. Brilliant. However, without some feedback from the app developer, Luis Ángel San Martín, I would still be clueless and in the dark, but you know what, the guy sent me two separate replies to my reviews offering help and once I realised that there was something in the MacOS DMG called YACReaderLibrary (that I had overlooked when installing YACReader on my Mac) it was plain sailing. Point the server at my library, connect the app on the iPad to the server and bingo - I am one happy comic reader.==========Updated review - four stars ...My original review (which I have now removed) was one star - I have now modified it to four stars mainly because after a day of trying different things I finally have managed to import my comics into the app. Once that was done the app works fine. How did I get my comics into the app? iMac -> physical cable -> iPad and then import via iTunes drag and drop. My hope of reading comics by importing them on demand from the RAID server connected to my iMac on my local network via wi-fi still doesn’t work, so I’ve imported 50G of comics all at once. It might not be the solution I wanted but it is a solution. Also, the developer contacted me through the App Store offering to help. As it turned out I had already found my “solution” so the help was not needed, but it was nice that the offer was made.
Developer Response
There is a Help tab in the app to contact support. I have tested all import methods in 3.9.2 and all of them work as expected. Send me a mail and I will guide you through the import section.UPDATE You can read your comics without importing them using YACReaderLibrary as a server in your mac, it is free and you can get it from www.yacreader.com/downloadsIf you have troubles setting it up, send me an email or open a post in the users' forum.
Brilliant app for reading comics
SimBear
I needed a replacement for ComicGlass which has been getting worse and worse for a while.YAC allows folder within folder sorting and customisable page turning.Once I got used to the settings I realised that I had found a simple but powerful app.
Lovely app but frustrating to organise
Kellalizard
I want to import my comics from my iPad into the reader, but they import straight in without going into my designated folders, then I have to move them manually by hand which takes forever! Please could we have the option to import into folders?
Developer Response
All import options are able to import into folders but one, the only one that doesn’t support it is if you send comics to the app from the system menu “open with” or if you use iOS files app. Also, check the user manual, there is video about how to use multiple selection to move items quickly.
Excellent Comic and Manga Reader
