I love this app. As someone who suffers from endometriosis and has suffered with pcos, being able to track and have tips on how to manage your cycle is truly revolutionary. I love that you can optimise your life by doing little things and logging symptoms. What I would like to see in the future is maybe a tab where some things are advised to avoid, For example, vigorous exercise on your period or maybe some food that isn’t as beneficial in a certain phase of your period with a hint stating it would be better to consume at another phase of your cycle.

Broken app and poor customer service
Megs6282947372910
I had this app previously and thought it was pretty good - I did the premium trial but didn’t think it offered enough to be worth the money. But it was a nice and easy way of tracking where I was in my cycle so I kept the base version. Then I got a new phone, mirrored all my data over, and the app just didn’t work. It’s a blank screen, doesn’t let me enter any information, it’s just dead. I had that briefly when I first got the app, so I stupidly thought “oh, maybe I need the premium version first before it will let me use the base one”. It’s my own fault there. But I paid for premium, and it’s still blank. I sent an email to customer service asking for tech support, they replied about a week later asking for some further information, I sent it, and have since heard absolutely nothing. Several weeks have gone by now without even a “hey, we’re sorry, we’re trying to figure it out”. I’m not even that upset about it not working or the money I’ve thrown down the drain (again, my fault) but just the complete lack of communication is really poor.

Warning! The app messed with my Apple Health data
lulu_cleo22
I’m sure the app works for some however I had problems linking it to Apple health data. I synced the Lively period tracker with my health app in the hopes of seamlessly transferring 6 years worth of cycle information. This was not the case. The information it uploaded after a simple syncing process was not correct and very skewed. It had lengthened periods, baring in mind I am usually regular, added spotting dates when there previously weren’t any, and also subsequently sent warnings that various lengths were irregular and ‘needed attention’. The only attention needed is for this bug to be fixed. When I went onto my original Apple health app, the data had been messed up there too. This was frustrating as I then spent valuable time trying to fix the data, helplessly trying to estimate what the actual dates were from 6 years ago! I have managed to correct them as much as I can but it will never be the real data which is upsetting - but I take accountability for relying solely on technology to track it. The actual Lively app seems nice and it offers what looks like good advice. However I don’t think it’s worth the subscription price for me. At the time of writing this I have only had the app a few hours and have now cancelled the free trial and deleted my account. (I better not get charged for it!!) I’ll be going back to the trusted Apple health app after this stressful and time consuming issue.
Developer Response
Thank you for sharing this, and I’m truly sorry the Apple Health sync skewed your history and even altered data in Health. That’s incredibly stressful, especially with 6 years of records. 🙏 Please email us at support@livelycycle.com so we can investigate what happened with the import and help prevent it going forward. Also, trial charges are handled by Apple, so if you canceled in your App Store subscriptions you should not be billed. Thanks, Medina, Lively Team!
Needs more work
ACL24Milly
Great concept, I think with a lot more development this would help so many women. When you first make your account it asks for the date of when your most recent period started, and afterwards with just that slight bit of information, it guesses what phase in your cycle your at, it stated I was in my Luteal Phase however I’m in my Ovulatiry Phase so this is not accurate. It also doesn’t let you track medication and a lot of medications can have an effect on hormones and cycles, there for a lot of the information it’s giving you may not be accurate as it may be down to missing a dose of medication etc. The app only has a few things you can track and I was quite surprised that an app for women’s cycle does not include contraceptive tracking. There’s only 3 types of flow, light, medium and heavy, however some women have very heavy periods that range from light, medium, heavy, very heavy. Spotting is also included in a type of flow so this should be added to the same section. On the positive, the aesthetics/theme is beautiful, very mature and feminine. And I love that you can click on “lively tips” and see recommendations for your phase in the cycle, it also adds reasoning as to why you should do the recommendations. In conclusion, with a lot more work and improvement this could be an amazing app but so far there’s a lot that needs fixing 🌸
