I’ve been a dedicated Noteshelf user since v1 and I love it.In general, this version is an overall improvement from Noteshelf 2, and it can incredibly perform searches on my handwriting! But (for me) the following are missing:1) A mechanism to feedback issues to the developer (hence why I’m using this review)2) The time, date and power level are hidden when using the app. Not very good when I need to keep an eye on the time for the next meeting! Please bring this back ASAP!3) Switching between notebooks causes the notebook you switch to to reset the view to Page 1. This is a right pain as I switch notebooks frequently and some are 200+ pages long (so lots of additional and unnecessary scrolling to get back to where I was)4) New page is a switch and a tap. Old version was just a swipe. Maybe there is a toggle for this? (I haven’t found it if there is)5) The different colours on the left bar are very handy, but there needs to be 5 visible at all times, rather than just 3 (I use Black, Red, Green, Blue and Purple as ways of highlighting text)6) The double tap to undo doesn’t work for me. Not a big issue, but would speed up my work if I could figure out why.If the above can be resolved, the rating will be a 5 Star!Thank you, and keep up the great work!

Ever since I bought my first iPad (the first iPad) I have wanted a nice clean, clutter free not taking app. I've bought them all (GoodNotes, Penultimate, Noteshelf, Notability and all the rest - including whiteboards etc) and many have got overpriced, adopted subscription models etc but none have improved in terms of being a nice clean, clutter-free notebook...But NoteShelf has ticked all boxed. Version 2 was already very nice but version 3 is absolutelt the best of the bunch.I love the read only view when I just want to flick through notes and the completely hidden toolbar and, when writing notes, the toolbar is minimal. If I could add one thing it would be a couple more quick access colours but that really is nit picking.

Hyperlink’s the bane of my existence

A lot of people have left reviews saying this is better than 2, and while I can see why to an extent. I have to disagree personally for a number of reasons.The first being the notebooks get incredibly laggy with a lot of pages. In 2, I sometimes had notebooks with over a thousand pages and they worked fine and I went though the pages with ease. This version has over 200 and the notebooks suddenly can’t cope and almost freeze before coming off.The second being the point of the post; hyperlinks. I’m a frequent copy and paster. What 2 didn’t do but 3 does, is copy the link with and for a little bit, I just did the tedious task of double clicking and dragging it so that I could undo the hyperlink, but now that this version likes to lag, it took forever to hover, and for some reason now, it won’t even let me double click on the link and now I have to double click on the word next to it to highlight that, then drag it over so it’s highlighting the link but making it so it’s highlight only the link, to then remove the link.It’s a complete farce and ideally needs an option to cut this out so that you can copy without the links being copied too. I’ve tried to find a way to disable this and everything I’ve seen says to go to the 3 dots > more settings > turn off allow hyperlinks, and to no surprise, it does not work. If this is supposed to be the case and this is how to turn it off, this needs sorting. Then maybe my review will be 4 out of 5 and my only issue will be the lag.
Text Without Text Boxes.

I hate that to type text, you need to use annoying text boxes that can slide around. I want to be able to type directly onto the page without text boxes. Why doesn’t the app allow this???? Asked the developers on several occasions(years) to provide this feature and they just string me along saying they will provide for it but never do. Was willing to transfer all my notes to this app but I guess this is not the app for me. Edit: The Developers have been telling me they will forward this request to the UX team for well over 4 years(when it was Noteshelf 2), and here they are today, still saying the same thing. They redesigned the whole app and still didn’t bother to incorporate this very simple feature request, it really shouldn’t take that long to develop if the team were serious. The fact is, they don’t listen to users, they just make empty promises to string users along. Don’t waste your time downloading this app.
