HOW TO PLAY TICKET TO RIDE®: Players are dealt a number of tickets and must pick a certain number to keep (depending on the map). Players are also dealt four train cards of various colours. This number can also vary depending on the map you’re playing on, but don’t worry – the AI takes care of this! Each turn, players can draw two train cards from the face-up pile, draw two train cards from the face-down pile, draw another ticket to complete, or use their train cards to claim a route! A claimed route is shown by placing train pieces along the route. When a player has three or fewer train pieces left, the last round starts. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game is the winner! Excellent gameplay but scoring buggy

The game play is excellent and just as fun as the board game, however there are bugs with the scoring that need fixing. There has been multiple times where me and my partner have been playing the game in online mode on separate phone and the final scores on each phone is different. Having checked the maps, the number of trains are identical but each phone has their own take on what cards were drawn and completed.

A good launch with potential

This app has a tough act to follow, as the original version worked well and had a large variety of expansions. But they stopped updating it a while ago and it was starting to get buggy. So here we all are, having to buy the new version and all the expansions another time. The first two base maps (America and Europe) play well and, based on the rules, it looks like Nordic Countries will be up next. The gameplay is fluid, keeping player turn speedy, with some neat graphic additions. The feel of the game remains the same, and it hasn’t been tinkered with too much. However, part of the joy of Ticket to Ride (board game and original app) is the end of game reveal. In the previous version, it would dramatically which routes had been completed and thus tot up the scores. The players could then review and chat about their routes, problems, etc. In this version, it’s so speedy that it’s impossible to pay attention to how the game went. Its then not possible to return to the map to see connected routes. This is such a sad end to the game, as the reveal is one of the reasons Ticket to Ride is so well-reviewed and loved. Finally, if I could request one change in future updates, it would be the colours used in the maps. The artwork is beautiful, with accurately represented mountains and plains, but it’s very difficult to see the pins, or if you’re playing as green your trains can get lost amongst the background. In terms of accessibility, it would be great to be able to switch the background artwork to something more subdued. So, 3/5, with the hope they develop this game into something better.

I love the game and I think the app has been done really well! However I struggle a lot with not being able to turn off the moving elements eg. train whooshing past on Home Screen, route markers moving, station dots and man in bottom left twinkling/shining route dots raher than remaining stationary as well as the other player turns just starting immediately and card graphics flying everywhere. I nearly deleted the game and it’s particularly disappointing that I won’t be able to play it often due to the game only have music on/off as the only accessibility feature despite my partner and I paying £5 each for it. There are so many people with sensory issues eother due to neurodivergence and illness and I find it frustrating that were so often ignored when it comes to anything online. Please fix this and allow everyone to be able to enjoy the wonderful game you created!

Good game but seriously needs some of the old game features implementing. The game crashes on a regular basis , it is possible to go back to the game sometimes . Tickets get stuck when completing a route and stays like that for the rest of the game , then the computer just picks tickets for you . It would be helpful to know when a player has left the game and your not just playing a robot . You never know if that’s the case or your opponent game has crashed. Unless some ratings/ranking system is introduced , I can’t say that I would continue to play long time as it becomes less competitive. I played the old game on a daily basis for over 5 years mainly because of the rankings and wanting to improve . I am sure the bugs will get ironed out in time and if the other features are introduced then it will be a great game .
