2. SPEAK FROM DAY 1: Get instant feedback so you can begin speaking confidently, while responding to real native Spanish speakers
3. TRAIN YOUR EARS: The sounds in Spanish are different from English and other languages. So we will teach you how to distinguish between similar-sounding words, giving you the ability to better listen to native speakers
4. LEARN HOW TO LEARN A LANGUAGE: Palteca starts by getting you ready to learn how to learn a language. Many people try to learn languages through apps, but grow bored and frustrated when they realize the method isn’t working. Palteca gives you the roadmap to Spanish fluency in and out of the app

PALTECA MEMBERSHIP
A subscription is required to access Palteca. Palteca offers both monthly and annual subscriptions. Once purchased, the subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled in your Apple App Store account. When a subscription is canceled, access to Palteca will expire at the end of the current payment period. Refunds will not be given for any unused portion of the term.

It’s only the first month but I’m finding it easy to develop a habit of at least 10 minutes a day. I really like the idea that you listen to a lot of Spanish, without any translations. And in full sentences!

Obnoxious attempt at getting your money

This app follows the same trite and exploitative trick so many others do. The idea is to make the sign up process so long that by the time you’ve answered the thousand questions about you and your history with Spanish and your goals and blah blah blah you will be so time-invested that when they ask you to pay for a subscription you’ll think “oh go on then I’ve been here 20 minutes I may as well pay for the first month and see”. Then you’ll find yourself in a near impossible scramble to cancel your subscription or otherwise if it’s easy enough they will just be banking on a small percentage of people simply forgetting to cancel to make their money. They have no interest in providing you a good service. The app will be basic and probably mostly AI generated. If they had any pride in the product their income model wouldn’t be based on tricking you. Do not download.

I have been using the app now for most of this year and have seen a great improvement in how the app and lessons have been developing to make the learning experience easier and more enjoyable. Whilst the daily lessons get you motivated and moving through the learning experience the additional activities of vocabulary and speaking reinforce the process with unique things like Ear training, Sounds and Numbers helping to cement the learning which I can access for support wherever I am in the world. I am finding this a really enjoyable journey in my Spanish language learning.
