Great Game (needs a little refining)

Im running M3 Pro 19gb Ram, it runs reasonably well. Im having to stick to low specs for it to run at a good FPS. It doesn’t look awful though. I like that the settings are so adjustable so I can have hair strands on. Im hoping with more and more updates the game will become more refined. Great work Devs.

This game is one the best offerings available on Mac. The gameplay is great and the story has some incredible cinematic scenes. If you enjoy open world games that are story driven you will not be dissapointed. The game is a little too open world for me as I feel this sacrifices some more purposeful linear gameplay. I am running on a M4 pro on high settings and the game runs perfectly. You do not notice anything over a stable 30 fps unless you are playing driving games and some fps. All the negative reviews are either from people trying to run base model or have no idea how to tweak the settings in game which is a con for ALL gaming these days. You have to find which areas are the most intensive that give the least noticeable results e.g shadows of hair strands etc. My game ran terribly on default settings and some settings seemed to make no difference graphically but made the game run even worse. It is simply a learning curve and you have to play around with the in game settings. You could probably even just google which are the most optimal settings for your model Mac.

Best game on Mac. Unbelievably good, the storyline up to now is absolutely amazing. I have enjoyed playing as the two characters (I am an hour in) It did give a pre warning prior to starting about not meeting all of the specs required, but up to now I haven’t seen any stutter or frame rate issues up to now. I have just literally got the Mac, for the sole purpose of playing this game.I love Japanese samurai culture, so I felt it was always going to hit the right notes for me. I do hope there is a future expansion to iPhones too, so I can continue on the move. It feels true to the Assassins Creed games of old up to now, with good gameplay mechanics and good stealth elements. All in all well worthy of a purchase, just make sure you read the spec requirements, prior to purchase, as it is resource heavy. I have been running it from my Samsung T7 Shield SSD and its been problem free for me.*** I just wanted to add an update to this review, following what I am reading alongside other reviews - READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION - By Ubisoft, so you can ensure it will work with your device. You need 16gb RAM minimum, it does state this. I re-iterate that I have had zero crashes, its stable, frame rate is stable and I have put in just over 8 hours now. It’s an incredible game.**** Update 9th May 2025 - There have been a number of performance updates since the initial launch and with each patch it runs smoother and smoother. There is no reason not to purchase now, providing you have the correct RAM etc… I did purchase a MacBook Cooling Pad, which has kept the MacBook Air ice cold when running AC:Shadows. Amazing game!

When I switched from Mac a few years ago, I left behind all the games I used to love playing. However, things have changed with Apple’s new kit, which allows us to experience our favorite games on our favorite machines. I had watched many reviews before purchasing this game, and surprisingly, it runs well on M3 Pro. So, I decided to give it a try, and it was smooth as butter. I was able to get over 60 FPS, which is exactly what I needed to enjoy the game. Thanks to the developers for making this game available for Mac.
