Tap-to-focus is smarter in this update: your focus point now stays as long as you keep the camera on the scene — even if you recompose right after tapping — and clears once you point away. AE/AF Lock still holds until you tap again.

Zebra lines are overlaid to show where you are focused. We hope you like having manual focus power while preserving Kodist's lightweight camera experience. ◎ Technical improvements * Your photos are now oriented more accurately and reliably, especially when switching quickly between portrait and landscape. * Photo orientations are locked in when you press the capture button. In other words, the orientation won't change if you move the device after taking the photo. * Photo timestamps are locked to the moment you pressed the shutter. * When taking a photo of a person, the colours now subtly correct to the skin tone. * Kodist now launches 50% faster — from 0.87s to 0.41s on an iPhone 15 Pro. Hi there! This update brings Kodist to more people in their language, including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean. We also updated the English variant for Australia. Also, we re-branded some of the film emulations in the app, and made their parody names and background stories more on point in each localisation. And we fixed some UI elements that weren’t properly localised. Last but not least, you can now open Kodist with Siri with a localised natural phrase, such as “Open Kodist”. This update also fixed some issues with the app: * EV adjustments wouldn’t work for the front-facing camera. Fixed. * Film selection would reset to default after launching the camera from the Lock Screen. Fixed. * At certain zoom levels, the image might have a hairline black strip on an edge. Fixed. Kodist is now officially a freemium app: you can use one film for free, and unlock the rest with a single one-off purchase. If you’ve tipped us before, for any amount, you’ll unlock all films straight away. Also improved or fixed in this update: * The app is now available in French, German, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese. This is in addition to English and Simplified Chinese that Kodist has already supported. * The app is now localised for English variants in the US, the UK, and Canada. * The film effect and aspect ratio menu may have jittered and become untappable. Fixed, and this also resolves an issue where the app could heat your device more quickly than desired. Enjoy the update!

Unlocked by using iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max Camera Control to launch Kodist, or by launching the camera from Lock Screen widgets. Requires iOS 18. - Blush Boudoir: a modern colour film with a pink overtone. Unlocked by taking 100 photos in the app. We updated “Your Films”: * You can easily scroll to the film you want with a list that’s now much more compact. * A dedicated page showcases the film’s story, the quest to complete to unlock the film, as well as many sample photos for your reference. We improved the imaging process: * The EDR tone mapping is adjusted to bring out more natural colours while preserving details in the highlight areas. * You can disable EDR photos from the system status page entirely, if you so wish. * Image processing is about 2x faster. We’re updating JUST Cam with a few additions: - New film effect “Lomography”, a nostalgic film style that simulates the peephole imaging process — unlocked after you take 25 photos. - Tap to focus: You can tap on the viewfinder to focus (and adjust exposure) to a point of interest. Bonus point: the view finder is now much larger in size! - Review your recent photo: When you take a photo, you can tap and hold on the lower-left corner to see the image — review colours, exposure, and focus — without leaving the app. Hope you’ll enjoy this update!
