Parachute Backup is ready for iOS/iPadOS 27. This update fixes problems reported by users: • A destination within a source folder will no longer be backed up into itself. • Large folder backups use less memory and can be paused or canceled instantly. • Photos backup can no longer hang as iCloud Photos downloads stall. • Files downloaded for iCloud Drive backups are always properly removed. • Files deleted from a Google Drive or OneDrive backup will always be restored on the next run. • Folders with a "+" in their name are no longer duplicated on Google Drive. • Parachute Backup stays responsive while counting very large libraries and folders.

Parachute Backup Mobile is ready for iOS 27. This update also fixes problems reported after the last release: • Backups started by a Shortcuts automation now run while the device is locked. • Google Drive destinations no longer end up with duplicate folders. • Faster backups to network drives and from iCloud Drive. • Files with restricted permissions no longer stop a cloud backup, and now reach drives and network shares too. • Files in iCloud Drive that are still uploading, have a sync conflict, or have syncing paused are backed up from the local copy instead of stopping with a download timeout. • Files that were locked on a Mac are now backed up, and left unlocked in the backup. • A clearer message when the destination folder has been deleted.

This update fixes an issue where files, photos, and videos backed up to NAS and other network destinations could receive the backup time instead of their original dates.

This update fixes problems reported after 1.9: • Backups to network and cloud destinations are much faster. • A file that cannot be written no longer stops the whole backup.

We’ve eliminated an expensive duplicate filename scan before each backup. * We removed unnecessary verification steps after writing files, resulting in much faster backups to slow storage such as SMB shares and NAS devices. * Note: on iOS/iPadOS 26.5 and later we’ve noticed that the modification date of photos and videos changes unexpectedly. For example, simply viewing a photo in the Photos app updates its modification date. As a result, Parachute Backup backs it up again the next time it runs. We have not yet found a workaround for this iOS issue. * Added a workaround for an issue that could cause files backed up to NAS devices to be marked as invisible. * Smaller fixes and improvements.
