I had previously been using Typeless for transcription purposes, but I couldn’t tolerate the mandatory ‘perfection’ of your speech that it would perform. It was always converting your natural expression into numbered lists and making you sound like ChatGPT.In contrast, Whispr’s Elite model is excellent at transcribing exactly what you have said, filler words and all. I greatly appreciate the fact that AI-powered ‘improvement’ of your transcription is an optional feature that you can manually apply and undo if you don’t like the result.There are a couple of things I think aren’t ideal yet:- While I genuinely appreciate the fact that it accurately transcribes your “um”s and fillers, the punctuation of these could be improved. Eg a recent transcription of mine includes “like it would literally And it would it’s very clever that it could do it,”. If it were captured as something more like “like, it would literally, and it would—it’s very clever that it could do it—“ it would come across a bit less like word salad.- Using the grammar correction feature does ameliorate the above, but it ‘corrected’ swears in the transcription to words like “dang”. I don’t think the grammar function as opposed to the professionalism function should do this.- I think the FAQ may need updated; eg it references 2 models rather than the 3 that are available now.Very thankful for this app and excited for its development to continue.
