YOUR WORKOUT, ONE SCREEN

8.8.0 5 days ago
Flux 8.7.2 makes it easier to choose and understand a prebuilt routine.
CLEARER ROUTINE CHOICES
Each routine on Choose Routine now says what it is in plain language. Open one and you’ll see Overview for the phases and workouts, Guide for who it is for and what you need, and Settings for Adaptive Mode.
HONEST TRAINING BLOCKS
Flux Progressive is Settle In, then Progress & Build, then Recover. Other programmes use the same Recover name for their lighter week. Blocks only change name when the work itself changes.
WHO EACH ROUTINE IS FOR
Every prebuilt routine now explains who it suits, who should look elsewhere, and how to run it — before you select it.
HONEST INSIGHTS
Consistency now stays with your current routine when you open Insights, from the day you started it. Targets hit is that same routine in the dates you picked. Rest-pause work you actually did counts, and extra reps are no longer treated as misses.
8.7.2 20 Sept
Flux 8.7.1 adds Hybrid workouts and a clearer Workout Complete screen.
FLUX HYBRID: STRENGTH PLUS TIMED CARDIO
Choose a 45–60 or 60–75 minute Flux Hybrid programme. Each week has three sessions over 12 completion-driven weeks, combining strength work with a timed Treadmill Run, Rowing Machine, Outdoor Run or Assault Bike. Timed targets stay with the workout if you leave and return so you don't lose progress. Hybrid progression stays on that programme too, so you build strength and endurance at the same time without having to manually adjust each week.
CLEARER WORKOUT COMPLETE RESULTS
The Workout Complete screen has had a polish. A green tick shows when every target was hit; otherwise a mark, and Next Time lists what to hit on that set. See the full next-session weight, reps and RIR above your progression guidance, including supported Routine Library programmes. Personal-best details and muscle diagrams, with bars ordered by sets worked, round out the review.
Plus the obligatory bug fixes and UI polish.
8.7.1 18 Sept
Flux 8.7.0 updates the parts of the app you use most: Workout Complete, Routine Library programmes, the Dashboard Routine Overview, warm-ups in your active workout and the Generate Routine duration settings.
WORKOUT COMPLETE IS NOW A SET OF CARDS
Tap Finish Workout and instead of one long page you get cards you swipe through. First, rate how the workout felt. Next, your totals: time, weight moved, sets and exercises. Then one card per exercise showing what you planned beside what you actually did, how it compared with last time and your target for next time, with a quick 1–5 rating for that exercise. The final card shows the muscles you trained, as a body map or a chart. Save Workout stays at the bottom of every card, so you can save whenever you're ready.
Flux also saves your workout before it opens Workout Complete. If the save fails, your workout stays paused with a Couldn't Save Workout message and a Retry Save button. Your sets are still there and nothing is counted twice.
SWAP EXERCISES IN ROUTINE LIBRARY PROGRAMMES
Following a programme but your gym doesn't have the kit? Open a programme workout, tap the exercise and choose Swap. Flux asks whether to change it for the whole routine or just this workout. Choose the whole routine and every remaining workout for that day (every Push Day, for example) uses the new exercise, and the change stays if you repeat the routine. Choose just this workout and only that session changes. Workouts you've already completed stay exactly as you trained them.
You can also swap before you start: in Choose Routine, open a programme's details, swap what you need to, then tap Select Routine.
DASHBOARD ROUTINE OVERVIEW FOR GENERATED ROUTINES
The Routine Overview widget on your Dashboard used to give programmes a phase and progress bar but give generated routines only a workout list. Generated routines now get the same view: your current phase, your position (such as Wave 2 · Week 4 · Workout 2 of 4), a bar that fills as you complete workouts, and your next milestone.
SMARTER WARM-UPS IN YOUR ACTIVE WORKOUT
For compound lifts in generated workouts, the warm-up sets Flux adds are now sized to today's working weight, reps and effort, and built from the plates and increments in your gym setup. A hard 30 kg dumbbell press gets a proper ramp; a light barbell lift gets a short one. Change your first working weight during the workout and the warm-ups you haven't ticked off update to match, while the ones you've completed keep their weights.
GENERATE ROUTINE: CHOOSE YOUR SESSION LENGTH
The Duration setting when you generate a routine now offers 30 min, 30–45, 45–60, 60–75 and 75–90 minutes. New routines fit their time more reliably, automatic supersets are kept in check and weekly muscle balance is steadier. When a session still runs long, Flux now turns a set into a lighter, shorter-rest back-off set instead of removing it.
ALSO IN THIS UPDATE
• Edited routines: the targets shown in the workout editor, the active workout and Workout Complete now match, and earned weight increases are saved to your routine for next time.
• Workout history that mixes kilograms and pounds now compares correctly.
• Paywall: once your trial ends, a Share feedback button lets you tell us why you're not unlocking Flux.
• The Failure Reasons sheet no longer overlaps its Done button, and duplicate profiles left by older versions are tidied up automatically.
8.7.0 15 Sept
Spend less time waiting and more time training. Flux 8.6.0 gives you a faster start, a fresh new look and a clearer picture of what your hard work is doing.
GET INTO YOUR WORKOUT FASTER
Open Flux, find your session and keep moving. Faster startup and more responsive Dashboard, Insights, Exercise Performance, history and calendar views make everyday training feel more fluid, even as your workout history grows.
SEE WHAT'S WORKING
Spot progress in your lifts and see how consistently you are showing up. New Strength, Health, Consistency and Velocity findings help you understand your results and the evidence behind them. Choose dates for Performance and Health, or explore workouts from your current routine in Routine. When Flux needs more data, it tells you.
MAKE EVERY SET YOURS
Give individual sets their own weight, reps and effort targets in generated strength workouts. Clearer top-set and back-off details help you follow the session you planned, while warm-up and working sets stay together for easy reading. Your chosen set count and mixed targets carry through workout preparation; eligible adaptive adjustments still apply.
KNOW WHAT TO AIM FOR NEXT
Finish with a clearer next step. See how each exercise compared with last time and get guidance on the next target, whether that means another rep, the same weight or a planned increase. Check-in reports also save Strength and Health findings on this device, so you can revisit where you were at the time.
FIND YOUR LOOK
Meet Light mode: crisp cards, deep green accents and unmistakable Flux lime. Choose from System, Light and Dark in Profile > Theme. Existing users keep Dark until they choose; new users start with System. Signed-in choices sync with your Flux account, with supported home widgets and Live Activities following where iOS permits.
AND A LITTLE MORE POLISH
Clearer set controls make it easier to see what is done and tap again to undo completion. Cleaner routine settings, Library rows and Insights cards keep the details easy to scan. Dashboard KPI and Body Comp widgets offer a focused view up to a year; All Time remains available in Insights.
There is a little Flux letter wave to welcome you during onboarding only, plus improvements to startup access checks, streak-restoration reliability and next-session feedback for older Routine Library workouts.
8.6.0 8 Sept
Train with a bigger plan. Finish every session with confidence.
Flux 8.5.1 brings advanced strength periodisation, offline-first workout saving and a clearer view of your training from start to finish.
FIVE WAYS TO BUILD YOUR TRAINING
Choose a periodisation model when generating a strength routine:
• Adaptive Block — phases shaped by your goals, experience, completed training and recovery.
• Daily Undulating (DUP) — Heavy and Volume work across your strength routine, with Moderate sessions where appropriate.
• Linear — a structured six-week path from Volume through Build and Heavy work to Deload.
• Weekly Undulating (WUP) — planned waves of Volume, Moderate and Heavy training, followed by recovery.
• Manual — choose your training phase and hold it until you decide to change it, with safety recovery when needed.
Model-aware sets, reps, load, rest and effort targets bring the plan into each strength workout. Managed progression follows completed training, with safety deloads when recovery needs attention. To change models, generate a new routine. Routine Library programmes keep their authored progression.
NO WI-FI? YOUR WORKOUT STILL COUNTS
Finish without waiting for a cloud connection. Your workout and final feedback are saved on your device, and completion confirms after a successful local save. Signed-in cloud backup can sync later when the app has connectivity.
A CLEARER, MORE CONNECTED DESIGN
Redesigned Routine Details brings workouts and progress into Overview, training controls into Settings, and instructions for supported saved programmes into Guide. Clearer phase and cycle displays help you see where you are and what's next.
MORE INSIGHT. FEWER INTERRUPTIONS.
• See your training phase and status together across the app and widgets.
• Explore clearer planned muscle-volume views for each Routine Library phase.
• Browse further back through your exercise history.
• Enjoy more reliable Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timers, better interrupted-workout recovery and improved layouts for iPhone, iPad and larger text.
• Apple Health stays optional, with clearer permission choices.
TRY EVERYTHING. UNLOCK IT FOR LIFE.
Try every feature free for 14 days with no payment, subscription or automatic charge. After the trial, one Lifetime Unlock purchase gives permanent Full Access. Eligible existing paid owners retain permanent access.

FIXES
Some bugs made their way into the app in the last release - all sorted now!
8.2.8 21 Jul
What's new in v8.2.7.
It's a biggie! We've added the ROUTINE LIBRARY
Choose a structured programme for strength, size, powerbuilding, or high-intensity training, with schedule and session-length options to fit your week. Programmes advance workout by workout, so missing a day never skips the plan.
Flux now checks your gym equipment and exercise preferences before setup, offers compatible alternatives where needed, and shows clearer set targets and more accurate workout time estimates. Pro users can also use Adaptive Mode to automatically refine weight, reps, RIR, and rest while keeping the programme's exercises, phases, sequence, and advanced methods intact.
We'll be adding new routines in future updates, let us know at support@fluxworkouts.com if there's any in particular you want us to focus on!
Personalised Flux-generated routines remain available from the new Add Routine screen.
ENHANCEMENTS
- To support the new Routine Library, we've enhanced the Edit Exercise screen and gives you more control over individual sets.
- The Insights Screen has had a slight upgrade which also brings additional speed to the data shown.
- The UI has had a polish to align styles across screens.
BUG FIXES
- Couple of sneaky bugs made their way in affecting performance and slowing the app down.
8.2.7 15 Jul
New in Flux Workouts 8.2.6
IMPROVED SUPERSET AND GIANT SETS.
We've tweaked the logic when the App generates a workout and applies a superset or giant set to save time or increase intensity. It's less likely now to pair deadlifts and squats!
INSIGHTS IMPROVEMENTS
We've moved a few things around on the Insights screen ready for a future update coming soon!
BUGS SQUASHED:
- App crashes when trying to view exercise list
- Superset Unilateral Exercises skipping the second set
- Updated weight choice on workout completion screen had strange rounding values
- Other enhancements under the hood.
8.2.6 2 Jul
New in Flux Workouts 8.2.4
Bug Fixes only, nothing special for this one - sorry folks!
8.2.4 14 Jun
Flux Workouts 8.2.3 — Holiday Mode + Smarter Check-Ins
HOLIDAY MODE
Going away? Turn on Holiday Mode in Profile → App Settings to freeze your streak. It won't reset while you're gone, and Flux won't treat the break as an unplanned layoff or recalibrate your plan. Switch it off when you're back and your streak continues right where it left off with a fresh 7 days to log your next workout.
SMARTER CHECK-INS
Your scheduled check-in is now a focused, data-driven coaching report instead of a generic summary:
• One insight per screen — what we saw, what it means, what to do
• Charts appear only where they help (volume, strength, consistency, sleep vs. sets)
• New long-term health trends: resting heart rate, HRV, VO₂ max, lean body mass (needs HealthKit sync)
• Accept, decline, or apply routine suggestions right inside the report
All generated on your device from your own training and health data, no external AI agents making stuff up.
SMARTER ADAPTIVE TRAINING
More accurate per-muscle fatigue and recovery, plus a new sliding-scale response: a tired muscle gets a light intensity ease first, then more rest, then a trimmed set, and only a movement swap when fatigue is severe. Your big lifts are eased rather than ignored, and sessions are never over-trimmed.
FIXES & POLISH
• HIIT circuit exercises now reorder and swap correctly across active, preview, and routine-edit screens
• More relevant, equipment-aware check-in suggestions
Thanks for training with Flux. We're a small, part-time team — tell us what you think at support@fluxworkouts.com
8.2.3 8 Jun
New in v8.2.2.
NEW: Plate Calculator! Flux now will tell you what plates you need on a barbell based exercise based on the plates you have available. When you update, Flux will add a selection of plates for you. You can change this by visiting the Locations pages and updating your plates there. On active Exercise screens you'll now find a handy little note which breaks down plates available to use.
NEW: Goal Setter Widget on the dashboard. Have a goal to aim for? Need motivation? Set a simple countdown in days on a widget so it's always there on your dashboard.
NEW: Custom KPI Dashboard widget. Create your own widget to monitor the KPI of choice! Whether volume lifted, lean body mass or sleep hours - it's up to you!
ENHANCED: We've overhauled the Insight screens, bringing in new charts and a more integrated and expanded timeframe selector.
ENHANCED: Redesigned the Location page to add the new Weight Plates selections.
Bug Fixes:
- Rest timer was stopped when you changed the weight on the next exercise, now it continues until you cancel it or it runs out, or complete the next working set.
- A bug crept in when switching out exercises, no more!
- Fatigue charts are now ordered correctly (most fatigued to least fatigued) and are consistent across dashboard widget and insights.
- HIIT Exercise reordering bug has been obliterated.
8.2.2 4 Jun

ENHANCED: Workout generation just got smarter - workouts with limited equipment now return more applicable exercises
ENHANCED: HIIT Workout generation now selects more applicable exercises.

8.2.1 18 May
New in v8.2.0.
It's a big one folks, a new and exciting feature has been in the works for a while, and it's here!
NEW: Hybrid Workouts for Pro Users! Ever fancied a routine of weight training mixed in with a cheeky HIIT circuit? Well now you can. We already supported mixing weight training and time-based exercises like treadmill sprints or heavy bag rounds, but we've now gone one step further:
- Mix HIIT Workouts and Weight Training workouts in the same routine.
- Edit a Routine and add extra workouts up to a maximum of 5 per routine.
- Mix different goals in a single Routine, for example if you want to do a Hypertrophy day on day 1 but Strength focused session on day 3, now you can!
- Edit Routines on the Routine Details page to set the deload thresholds, type of progression and more.
NEW: Do you have mixed equipment and need to set KG for one and LBs for the other? Now you can, just head to the Location settings, under the equipment you can now set the weight measure to use per equipment. You can still set a default in your profile.
NEW: Swapped out an exercise? You can now select for it not to appear in future workouts.
ENHANCED: If you update a weight mid workout, now it updates only future sets for that exercise.
ENHANCED: Lots of User Experience tweaks and improvements.
Plus lots of styling updates to bring a bit of consistency to the Flux experience, we clearly went off on a tangent on some of those screens, and a bit of a polish under the hood to make things faster and smoother.
Thanks for being part of the Flux Journey, feedback, feature requests and bug reports to support@fluxworkouts.com
8.2.0 10 May
New in v8.1.7
NEW: You know those rest timer beeps? You can now switch them off or make them louder by changing the setting on your Profile screen.
NEW: Edit exercises mid-workout, change the weight, sets, reps and join to make supersets or giant sets with adjacent exercises.
NEW: Lots of new Exercises added to the library, including landmine based push and pull, more variations of compounds and more core, carry and conditioning work.
NEW: Accessory Exercise Rotation now allows you select how often you want them to rotate, choose between no rotation, rotate every workout and so on. Want a fresh workout every time? Now you can!
new: You can now define the number of exercises for HIIT Ad-hoc Workouts, and it will estimate the total time needed too.
FIXED: Duplicated exercises or movement patterns shouldn't appear anymore in the same workout.
