PUT YOUR GUT FIRST
Thousands of apps count calories and nutrients. NutriScanner is built around your gut. Every result shows which beneficial gut bacteria a food may help to feed, and how to support a more diverse gut.
TWO SCORES, AT A GLANCE
Gut Health Score: how a food is likely to affect your gut, out of 10
Nutrition Score: its overall nutritional value, out of 10
Colour-coded, so you can decide in seconds.
FOUR WAYS TO CHECK YOUR FOOD
Scan a barcode on packaged food
Snap a photo of a meal or ingredient
Choose a photo from your library
Describe any food in a few words
SMARTER SWAPS
When a score could be better, NutriScanner suggests simple improvements: a better version of the same food, or something to add alongside it that makes up for what it lacks.
CLEAR EXPLANATIONS
Each result explains why a food scores as it does, in plain English: fibre, fermentation, processing, additives and more. Copy any comment to share or save it.
YOUR HISTORY
Every scan is saved on your phone, numbered and dated, with a search box to find past results quickly. Your history stays private to your device.

Simple but Effective App That Helps Promote Gut Health
CurioSeekeria
I’ve tried quite a few food-scanning apps over the years and most of them end up feeling a bit superficial or biased towards one specific health indicator. They scan a barcode, give a score, and that’s about it. NutriScanner feels completely different. What really stands out is that it focuses on the gut microbiome, which is probably the most talked about area of health and nutrition right now. Instead of just telling you whether a food is “good” or “bad”, the app explains how it might influence your gut bacteria and why that matters for overall health. It also highlights specific beneficial bacteria that certain ingredients can support and explains why those microbes are helpful. I’ve never seen another food app actually explain this in such a clear and practical way.Another big advantage is that it isn’t limited to packaged foods. You can scan a barcode, take a photo of a meal, a recipe or even just describe what you’re eating and it still gives you a useful analysis. That makes it far more practical for everyday life, especially when you’re eating home-cooked food or something from a café or restaurant.I also like that the app separates the nutrition score from the gut health score. Sometimes a food can look fine nutritionally but not be great for your microbiome, and seeing those two things side by side is surprisingly helpful.Overall it feels like a much smarter and more educational approach than the typical food-scanner apps. Instead of just giving you a number, it actually helps you understand what the food is doing in your body and balances the whole picture. If you’re interested in nutrition and gut health, this app is genuinely worth downloading

The NutriScanner is similar to Yuka but much better in regard to being able to describe the food you have created, or shop bought food that you have added for extra nutrition. The scoring is useful in regard to gut health and the nutritional nature of the food. The added feature of this app is the very useful links to an array of academic references to Healthspan longevity, including podcasts and updated referenced articles. Very impressive array of up to date information and interactional opportunities to connect with other health seekers , including the app originator👌🏽

So easy to use, I love that you can take a photo of your food and the app will quickly analyse it accurately. The suggestions for improvements are particularly helpful
Very well researched!

This is a very useful app. On top of showing you the nutritional analysis of the food you’re eating, it gives healthy alternatives. Easy to use - just take a phot of the packaging or food, or scan the barcode.
