Marking a pupil absent in advance now frees the teacher's slot: the lesson stays on the register as the absence, the calendar draws it hollow with "absent · slot free", and the time can be booked over. Moving a series onto a new day checks every lesson first and, if one would land on a closure or a clash, lists it and offers to leave it where it is. Term continuation has a real switch in Settings → Communications, with the notice families get. A Direct Debit cancelled at the bank is heard: automatic payment stops, the family is told how to set it up again, and the studio is told which instalments will wait. Bounced e-mail is heard: a bounced invitation shows on the pupil's page, nothing more goes to that address on its own, and a corrected address gets a fresh invitation.

Team & access now lists expired invitations, with Re-send and Revoke, and inviting the same address again replaces an expired one. A disabled member with no lessons can be removed from the school; the Teachers roster has a Show disabled switch and its count matches the list. A published open class's website page tag can be changed with Edit on its row, and the per-page snippet button is labelled. The assistant knows about page tags, staff access and disabled members.

The register now says whose day it closes. Owners and admins get the calendar's teacher filter on the register; "Mark my day complete" closes only your lessons, and closing everyone's day asks first. A note written on a pupil's register row now shows on the pupil's page, under the lesson, beside the lesson's own notes. Adults who pay for their own lessons can set up Direct Debit in the portal.

Payment plans: when a student leaves part-way through a plan, end it from the invoice — the months not taken are credited, the invoice reads Paid, and the family's statement and PDF show what was paid and what was credited. In the parent portal, an invoice on a plan now shows its next instalment and a See plan link rather than the whole year, and with Direct Debit switched on it says when each instalment will be collected and that there is nothing to press. Revenue and P&L now count money received, not credits. Adding a teacher to your roster without an e-mail address no longer stops on a hidden field. Plus the usual fixes and polish.

Five weeks of improvements from the website, now in the app. Group classes can be created with nobody on them yet, named, and published as open classes with a link families book from; add or remove pupils on an existing class, or rename it. Billing: each pupil can be billed before or after lessons, lesson lengths run from 15 to 240 minutes, cancelled lessons can be hidden or removed from the calendar, and lessons drag in the week view. A paid class booking sends its receipt. School-visit register lessons are editable. Data export includes lessons again. The assistant now says only what it has really passed to the team and knows which features your school has switched on. Fixes to Xero connection status, deleting a school and the morning brief. A teacher's invitation link now lasts the seven days its e-mail says and lands on a welcome page; owners and admins can switch the class-booking e-mails off for themselves (Settings, Profile). A pupil's page now lists every lesson, past and to come, fifty at a time, with true counts.

Billing runs: if your app is ever older than the server, LessonLoop now tells you plainly to update or use the web app, instead of a message you cannot act on. Morning brief: your school's daily brief now lands at 7am in your own time zone, with real invoice balances behind every figure. Safer money figures everywhere LoopAssist or the connector speaks: every "due" amount is the invoice's true balance. Faster Today page and calendar for big schools, and the app now heals itself if a cached page ever goes wrong. Plus the usual fixes and polish.

NEW: Face ID app lock — require Face ID or Touch ID to open the app on your device, with your passcode as a fallback. Booking requests now arrive as notifications you can approve or decline from the banner, opening straight to the request. Scrolling is properly locked to the vertical axis, so pages no longer drift or bounce sideways. Plus a set of iPad layout fixes: the calendar header, the messages list and the collapsed sidebar all lay out correctly at tablet sizes.

NEW: a home-screen widget — today's lessons at a glance, with a next-lesson countdown for staff and the next lesson plus balance for parents. The app now opens straight to your day (instant start from a saved snapshot), shows an unread badge on the icon, and adds home-screen shortcuts for New Lesson, Attendance and Invoices. Gentle haptics confirm completed actions, a clear banner appears when you're offline, links in messages open on the right page, and the white launch flash is gone.

Notifications now arrive properly — lesson changes, payments and messages, for staff and parents alike. Links in LessonLoop emails open straight in the app on the right page. Currency icons now show £ throughout. Plus the Term Planner, family-account links, automated invoice reminders and polish from 2.0.5.

Scheduling gets sharper: tap any lesson for an at-a-glance details card — students, teacher, time and join link — with attendance and editing one tap away. Editing a lesson is now a single Save that applies exactly what you changed, and scheduling dialogs fit comfortably on every screen size. Plus smaller fixes and polish throughout.
