Nica: Baby Food & Meal Planner
Led Weaning, Recipes & Tracker
Only for iPhone
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Smarter shopping this week: Nica builds your list from the meal plan, skips what is already in your pantry and walks you through the store aisle by aisle.
Starting solids shouldn't feel overwhelming. Nica is your joyful guide to feeding — from first bites at 6 months to confident self-feeding as a toddler. Whether you're trying baby led weaning, spoon-fed purees, or a mix of both, everything is personalized to your little one's age, your schedule, and your family's food culture.
Trusted by parents worldwide. Designed to make mealtimes joyful, not stressful.
KNOW WHAT'S SAFE — 100+ FOODS
The most comprehensive baby food database in your pocket. Every food includes age-specific preparation guides (6m+, 9m+, 12m+), choking hazard assessments, allergen warnings, and nutrition ratings. No more late-night Googling "can my baby eat this?" — just search, tap, and know in seconds.
COOK WITH CONFIDENCE — 200+ RECIPES*
Every recipe is rated by difficulty, prep time, and age range. Filter by dietary needs — vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and more. Freezer-friendly tags help you batch cook on busy weeks. Step-by-step cooking mode with built-in timers walks you through every recipe hands-free.
YOUR WEEK, PLANNED IN SECONDS
Tell Nica your baby's age, feeding philosophy, and how much time you have. Get a complete 7-day meal plan generated instantly — with balanced nutrition, age-appropriate recipes, and allergen introductions scheduled automatically. Swap any meal with one tap.
LOG MEALS IN ONE TAP — NOT TEN
Other apps force you to log every single ingredient separately. Nica lets you log an entire meal with one tap. Track reactions, mark favorites, and watch your baby's food journey grow. Hit milestones and unlock achievements as your little one becomes an Adventurous Eater.
SMART SHOPPING LISTS*
Auto-generate a grocery list from your weekly meal plan, sorted by aisle. Add your own items, check things off as you shop, and share the list with your partner. No more forgotten ingredients mid-recipe.
GENTLE REMINDERS & WEEKLY PROGRESS
Daily nudges for meals and allergen introductions. Weekly summaries showing new foods tried, allergen progress, and feeding wins. Encouraging — never nagging.

Some babies eat three meals, some eat four
Every baby's day looks a little different, and starting today, the meal plan can too. This release lets you choose exactly how many meals Nica fills in, on a per-baby basis.
NEW: Pick your meal slots (per baby)
Tell Nica which of the four slots, breakfast, morning snack, lunch, dinner, you want her to plan. Pick any two, three, or all four. The choice is saved per baby, so a younger sibling just starting solids can stay on two meals while their older brother or sister gets the full four. Open the sparkle button on the meal plan to choose, or change it anytime from Profile → Meal preferences.
When you pick fewer slots, Nica re-balances the day so the meals she does plan stay nutrient-dense, and the coverage view stays honest about the day's targets, no false "deficiency" warnings just because lunch wasn't on the list. Any meals you added by hand are always kept, even when you change which slots are planned later on.

Some days just need a little something extra
Babies' appetites don't follow a fixed grid. Some mornings there's a hungry hour after breakfast; some afternoons the snack just isn't enough. This release lets your meal plan flex with the day you're actually having.
NEW: Optional extra snack
You can now add one extra snack to any day of your meal plan, and place it exactly where it fits your routine: after breakfast, after the morning snack, after lunch, or after dinner. The auto-generator never adds it for you, so the slot stays yours to use only when you want it. Free for everyone, on the same days as the core four meals.

When "allergic" isn't black-and-white
Confirmed allergies aren't always all-or-nothing. Babies who react to milk often tolerate yogurt. Egg allergies frequently allow baked egg. Tree nut allergies are usually one specific nut, not all of them. This release lets Nica work with that real-world picture, so meal plans stop hiding foods your baby can actually eat.
NEW: Per-allergen tolerances
On any confirmed allergy, you can now record specific forms your baby tolerates, like yogurt with a milk allergy, or baked egg with an egg allergy. Recipes and meal plans automatically allow the tolerated forms while still blocking the rest.
Safety stays first
Un-introduced allergens are still fully blocked. Tolerances only apply to confirmed allergies you've recorded. If a recipe contains an ingredient Nica can't fully resolve, it's blocked by default, never silently allowed.

Allergen introduction, made safer
This release is all about one thing: giving you a clear, research-backed path through the top allergens, and making sure nothing in your meal plan catches you off guard.
NEW: Personalized allergen plan
During onboarding, Nica now builds a schedule for introducing the most common allergens, grounded in current pediatric guidance and tailored to your baby's age and stage.
NEW: Plan visible where it matters
The allergen tracking screen surfaces what's next to introduce and why, no more scrolling through lists wondering what to try this week.
NEW: Safer meal plans
Recipes that contain allergens your baby hasn't been introduced to yet are automatically excluded from the meal plan. Every suggestion is one you can actually serve.
