1.6.17 2 Oct
Unnamed Detecting sets can split when the wrist leaves the lifting pose, instead of one long Tracking blob.
The short pause no longer sticks the count on a couple of reps, and unnamed Rest no longer disarms the next set.
1.6.16 30 Sept
Apple Watch workouts should stay with you through the set, then move to rest when you stop.
A set is less likely to end while you are still lifting.
Lateral raises should finish and go to rest instead of sitting on the lifting screen.
Rest no longer shows Unknown Exercise when the exercise name is not locked.
Rest is shorter and clearer, and Start Next Set is easier to see.
A workout cut off by a Watch restart is less likely to show up as a very long Apple Health session.
1.6.15 26 Sept
Elite 8 Deadlifts count much more accurately (fixes the old undercount / freeze)
Smarter exercise detection for Squats, Push-ups, Sit-ups, and Curls (fewer wrong locks)
Cancel Set works cleanly during Auto Detect
Phone stays awake during Watch workouts (fewer black screens)
Form Mirror: tap to switch exercise + better exercise search
Siri / Pep Coach: add/remove reps by voice (easier “Plus one to Pep Coach”)

6) Spot-check Bench — still locks Bench (not stolen by Curls).
7) If first lock is wrong: mid-set Correct / Change still works.
8) Cancel Set (phone Watch Remote): reps → 0, exercise back to Tracking…; no black/stuck screen.
9) Optional: Strict Big-3 Deadlift still locks (untouched path).
FORM MIRROR (phone) — NEW in 459
10) Workout Mirror / Coach Me: gold “Exercise ▾” still works; Watch how optional.

14) Phone “Auto Detect” chip visible in Simple mode; Wrong?/Change still works.

Smarter hands-free workouts.
Start a set, lift, and let your Apple Watch do the counting. This is our best Auto Detect yet — it now recognizes and counts a wider range of exercises automatically, no taps required.
• Auto Detect now covers Squats, Bench Press, Push-ups, Dumbbell Chest Fly, Curls, and Sit-ups
• Faster, more accurate rep counting
• Pick your exercise mid-set if we get it wrong — one tap and it re-locks
• Cleaner Watch workout screen
More exercises coming soon. Keep the feedback coming — it makes Coach smarter.
1.6.6 4 Jul
What’s New (user-facing)
Auto Lift is simpler on Apple Watch
We rebuilt the workout screen so it’s easier to use in the gym:
Step 1 — Lock your lift
Do a few reps, then tap the big green “TAP TO LOCK IN” button when we show the right exercise.
Step 2 — Finish your set
Keep lifting. When you’re done, tap DONE in the top right.
Also in this update:
Clearer Home and All Lifts tabs on Watch
Smoother scrolling with the Digital Crown
Wrong exercise? — tap to pick the correct lift (list stays hidden until you need it)
+ / − rep buttons stay easy to reach
Fixes for set saving and exercise switching during Auto Lift
1.6.2 26 Jun
Update: AUTO LIFT
We have made a significant expansion to auto-detection/auto-lift.
Your Watch counts reps automatically for these 12 exercises:
- Squats
- Deadlifts
- Bench Press
- Overhead Press
- Bicep Curls
- Dumbbell Chest Fly
- Lateral Raises
- Pull-ups
- Push-ups
- Lat Pulldown
- Dumbbell Rows
- Sit-ups / Crunches
No more tapping after every rep. Strap on, start lifting, watch the
counter go up. The new live guess banner tells you what Auto Lift
sees in real time:
DETECTING -> tentative name -> GOLD LOCKED
For ANY other exercise (Lunges, Burpees, Jumping Jacks, etc.) -
tap +/- to count manually. Works as a guided workout either way.
PLEASE TEST
1. Open PepCoach on your Watch -> tap AUTO LIFT (gold tile at top)
2. Pick a few exercises from the 12 above - actually lift, count
what you really do, see how close Auto Lift gets
3. Try Bench Press AND Overhead Press in separate sets - confirm
each commits to the correct name (we fixed a confusion bug here)
ALSO TRY
BROWSE - swipe right or tap BROWSE tile, search any exercise,
favorite anything you love.
SEND TO WATCH - build a workout on your iPhone, tap "Send to
Watch", it appears as FROM PHONE on your wrist.
1.6.0 24 Jun
v1.5.9 (B237) — rep counter unblocked + freeze fixes
WHAT'S NEW
• Rep counter now works for EVERY exercise. Curls, Lateral Raises,
Crunches, Sit-ups, Overhead Press, Kettlebell Swings, Chest Fly,
and all the compounds — auto-counting now lives across the whole
app, not just Squat/Bench/Deadlift via Auto Detect.
• Watch no longer freezes when upload fails on bad Wi-Fi.
• Overhead Press guided workouts no longer crash on Done Set.
• "Install PepCoach on Watch" prompt now shows clearer copy with
step-by-step install instructions.
• Sign in with iPhone on Watch is faster (retry loop + auto-pair).
• Login page on iPhone pre-fills your username (no more typing email).
• Cleaner Watch home — focused on the lifts that actually work.
• Cleaner iPhone dashboard.
PLEASE TEST
1. Open any exercise via Auto Lift, Motion Starters, or a workout
plan. Reps should auto-count whether you're doing Curls, Lateral
Raises, Sit-ups, anything. No more "rep counter doesn't work on
this exercise."
2. Start a workout, turn OFF your Wi-Fi mid-set (or go to the gym
basement where signal is weak), do reps, tap Done Set, End
Workout. The app should STAY responsive. Pending uploads queue
to your Watch's storage and drain when network returns.
3. Overhead Press from a guided workout plan → do reps → Done Set.
App should not crash. Watch should not go black.
4. Sign in with iPhone on Watch: should be a single tap from a fresh
install, no 6-digit code typing.
5. iPhone dashboard refresh — your dashboard should feel calmer:
one row of 3 hero tiles, no aura color picker, no Hero/Classic
toggle clutter.
KNOWN ISSUES (don't report — already on the list)
• Squat may count a "ghost rep" before you actually start your first
squat. The detector picks up un-rack/walkout motion. We're fixing
this with a smarter motion-start detection in the next build.
• Classifier label on the Watch may show "Tracking…" for non-compound
exercises (Curls, Lateral, Fly). Rep count still works correctly;
the label just doesn't lock confidently for those yet.
REPORT ANYTHING ELSE
support@pepcoach.ai or reply to this TestFlight invite. Detailed
reports (what exercise, what tile, what you tapped) are gold.

1.5.9 8 Jun
Plan on iPhone. Lift on Apple Watch.
• Build your own workout in seconds — name it, add exercises, set reps + weight, save.
• Send any workout to your Watch with one tap. Multiple workouts now stack on the Watch home screen instead of overwriting each other.
• Fix typos in your personal records — edit weight, reps, and notes inline on any PR.
• Smoother login: email is now case-insensitive.
Thanks to our Founding Lifters for the feedback. Keep it coming.
1.5.4 3 Jun
Rep counter updates in real-time during your set (was sometimes catching up after you stopped lifting)
• Live "LOOKS LIKE [exercise]" chip — if you start a session with one label but actually do a different compound, the watch detects it after a few reps and offers a
one-tap switch (no Done Set ritual needed)
• Weight chip on the active workout screen — tap to set/edit weight inline, just under the rep digit
