LIMIT GUARD HEADROOM METER Limit Guard now shows your headroom on a meter: twelve blocks from +6 to -6 dB, counting down as the room runs out, the scale engineers already know. Around it, a marker for the last minute's level shows which way the average is heading, a tick shows where the Leq will sit in five minutes, and when you are close or over, a recovery line tells you what level to hold under and for how long. It pulses amber only while the margin is shrinking, and holds steady while you are pulling it back. Solid red means over. Every state carries a number as well as a colour, so it reads at a glance from the desk. The warning margin is now yours to set, at 1, 2, 3 or 6 dB, from the Limit Guard panel on the SPL page. REMOTE MONITORING Readings are only marked as synced once iCloud has confirmed them. Previously a phone could report "All readings synced" while iCloud was refusing the uploads, and the readings were discarded. Spektral now keeps anything iCloud has not accepted, and tells you plainly if it is being refused rather than simply waiting for a connection.

Bug fixes

RING-OUT Spektral now listens for feedback while you work. It looks for a frequency that is building rather than one that is merely loud, so a bass note or a mains hum cannot set it off. When it finds one you get the frequency, the musical note, and a suggested notch: centre, Q and cut. Confirmed rings collect in a list you can work through. A PROPER SPL METER The SPL page has been rebuilt for iPhone and iPad. Leq over 1 minute, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours all run at once, with three hours of level history on one graph and min, max and average underneath. A, C and Z weighting. Fast, Slow and Impulse. LIMIT GUARD Set a limit and a window, and Spektral forecasts how long you have before you reach it, so you find out while you can still do something about it. CALIBRATION A sensible default for the built-in microphone out of the box, and a guided calibration against an acoustic calibrator when the number has to be right. IDENTIFY Choose how many peaks get labelled, down to just the single strongest one.
