What a brilliantly conceived and designed application. A real pleasure to use, and I’m bowled over by the realism of neural amp modelling (which is new to me). The functionality, MIDI in particular, seems to offer everything needed for live performance. Just two caveats on this from my side. First, is it stable enough? I hope so but I’ve not yet used it anything like enough to know the answer to this. Second, I’m running it on an iPad mini, which seems like a good platform for live work. But the Ampz Live view doesn’t yet use all the available screen space to best effect, with things that could be big and bold appearing too small for my own preference. But this alone wouldn’t stop it from being workable. The app is new so I’m sure that the dev team will work this through. They’ve done a fantastic job!
We're really glad the amp modeling and the MIDI feature set are clicking for live use, since that's exactly what we built it for.On your two points: stability is our top priority, and every release goes through on-device testing before it ships. If you ever hit anything unexpected, please reach out so we can look into it directly. On the iPad mini layout, a recent update (1.5.0) specifically reworked the iPad Live view to use the full screen: the controls scale up, the knob grid spreads out and grows larger, and text and the toolbar are sized up for tablet. Make sure you're on the latest version and let us know how it feels on the mini. Thanks again for taking the time to review and for downloading. - Jonathan
