LEARN HOW TO PLAY PIANO - A real piano course, built into the app: five levels and fifty lessons that take you from your very first key to real two-handed pieces, with guided explanations for everything along the way. - Every timed exercise shows falling notes above the keyboard, so you can see exactly when to play. Earn XP and a badge for each level you finish. - The first three lessons are free. Level 1 is fully translated into all twelve app languages; Levels 2 to 5 are in English for now, with translations on the way. DRAW YOUR MELODY - Scribble on a grid and hear it play as a looping melody. Every line becomes a note that stays in key, so anything you draw sounds good. - Nine colours, each with its own sound, any key and scale, your own tempo, one to four bars, and a photo underneath to trace. - Your drawings save themselves. Export a loop as a WAV or M4A and share it anywhere. HOME - A What's New page, from the button beside the Bluetooth icon, so you can see what each update brought. - Optional notifications, if you allow them, when new sounds and features arrive. IPAD - The full-screen piano's top bar and DJ Kartier wordmark are the size they used to be. - A new OLD IN-APP PIANO switch in the sound editor brings back the original full-screen piano look, if you preferred it. FIXES - The Draw Your Melody loop plays again straight away after the app has been in the background. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

IPAD - DJ Kartier is a real iPad app now. Every screen is laid out for the bigger display instead of stretching one phone column across it — the sound browser, KARTIER STUDIO, the games and the piano lessons all use the extra room, with more on screen at once. - Rotate freely. Portrait or landscape, and the app follows you. - It behaves in Split View, Slide Over and Stage Manager too, so you can keep it beside another app instead of having to run it full screen. HUMANIZE - A new setting for the MIDI player in the famous sounds presets. Nudge every note slightly off perfect — OFF, or 7, 14 or 28 milliseconds either way — with a touch of volume variation on top, so a take you record sounds played rather than programmed. FIXES - Saying no to the microphone is no longer treated as a failure. The app asks calmly instead of showing an error, and puts OPEN SETTINGS on screen if you change your mind. - XP and game records save reliably again. If a name you tried was refused, scores could quietly stop counting from then on; that is fixed, and any device it already affected repairs itself the next time you open a leaderboard. - Losing headphones in the middle of a song no longer leaves the next song playing far too quietly. - Leftover recording files from an interrupted take are cleared out on launch, so nothing you did not make shows up in your recordings. NEW SOUNDS - OMFG "Hello", a bass and an accordion from "Neck Hurts Funk", and the McDonald's beep — each one playable across the whole keyboard. FULL PIANO - A new DARKEN control for your custom photo or video background: dim it as much as you like, or leave it exactly as it was. - Lit keys are cleaner — no more faint line across a key when it lights up over a background. RECORD YOUR VOICE Sing, rap or beatbox straight into your own song. This is the big one. • Tap a track, choose RECORD YOUR VOICE, and your take lands right on the beat • A count-in plays first, so you know exactly when to come in • Record just the part you want — put the marker where you like and recording starts there • Up to four takes on one track, kept side by side so you can pick the one that worked • Quiet takes are brought up automatically, so a shy first try still sits in the mix • Choose how loud the song plays while you sing, in real decibels, under Options • Wearing Bluetooth headphones? You can still record — we'll just warn you that the timing may drift • Your recordings stay on your phone. Nothing is ever uploaded.
