HARDER WHERE IT SHOULD BE, SIMPLER WHERE IT SHOULD BE We asked one question of every item in the app: would a good 11+ tutor set this? Where the answer was no, we rewrote it. More than 5,000 questions across all four subjects are new or rebuilt, and each one was checked by tutor review before it went in. • Maths: 1,705 basic questions rewritten as proper 11+ problems, with wrong answers built from the real mistakes children make. • English: 1,702 questions rewritten, with sharper comprehension, real grammar and punctuation traps, and gap-fill options that all fit the sentence, so the meaning decides. • Verbal reasoning: every question below 11+ standard rewritten, and puzzles that were easier than their level rebuilt at that level. • Non-verbal reasoning: 1,540 puzzles rebuilt, from series and grids to codes, cube nets, paper folding and reflections, so the answer can't be guessed without working out the rule. DIFFICULTY YOU CAN TRUST Easy, medium and hard now mean what they say: every question sits at the level a tutor rated it. CLEARER PICTURES Striped shapes in non-verbal questions are now crisp on small screens, so they never look like plain grey. Same 12,432 questions to practise, same daily plan, same Taco, nothing to set up again.

EVERY QUESTION CHECKED, THE WAY A TUTOR MARKS A PAPER We went back through all 12,432 questions and fixed 1,467 of them: answers that were wrong, questions where a second answer could be defended just as well, reading passages that had been reused with the names swapped, and hints that gave the game away. Maths explanations now match the question they belong to. The app also checks itself now. Before every release it works out the answer to each question from scratch and compares it with the one stored, so this stays fixed. MADE FOR THE iPAD Most children practise on an iPad, so the app now uses the whole screen instead of stretching a phone layout across it. Reading passages open full page in larger type. Non-verbal answers sit side by side, so your child can compare all five without scrolling. Nothing is cut off when the iPad is turned sideways. Same daily plan, same Taco, nothing to set up again.

A PROPER PLACE TO WORK IT OUT: the working-out pad now has its own button beside Taco's help and opens full screen, on squared paper, with the question written clearly along the top. Long word problems show in full. Close it to check the options and your working is still there when you come back — only the next question starts a fresh page. Available in maths and verbal reasoning. NO MORE ACCIDENTAL ANSWERS: in Master a Skill, a finger resting on the screen while your child thinks could mark an answer by mistake. Now the first tap only highlights an answer; it's marked when they press Check Answer (or tap the same answer again). Every mark on the climb is one they meant. SMOOTHER ON iPHONE: Taco's help and the notepad sit neatly side by side in the toolbar, so the screen title is no longer cut short.

NOW ON MORE IPHONES AND IPADS: the app used to require a very recent version of iOS, which shut out a lot of family iPads — including the hand-me-down ones children most often practise on. It now runs on iOS 17 and later. 476 NEW QUESTIONS: the thinnest topics have been filled out. In English, inference and deduction, summarising, literary devices and punctuation. In non-verbal reasoning, hole punching, paper folding and symmetry — each one worked out from a folding model rather than drawn by eye. In verbal reasoning, six vocabulary-led topics including antonyms, synonyms and compound words, every question given its own near-miss options rather than the same handful of filler answers. Over 12,000 questions are now active. NO REPEATED PUZZLES: duplicate non-verbal questions have been retired, so the same shape sequence can't turn up twice in one mock — plus 14 new cube-net puzzles, checked by actually folding them. FIVE REAL ANSWERS: a full audit of the maths bank replaced the giveaway options, so every question now offers five answers worth weighing rather than four wearing five. FAIRER ENGLISH OPTIONS: correct answers now sit evenly across A to E, so no letter is worth guessing more than another. FOR PARENTS: a Sunday evening summary opens straight into Parent Mode, so the week's practice is one tap away. It rides on Taco's existing reminders — the app never asks for a new notification permission.

NEW — Master a Skill: pick one topic and climb! Three correct answers in a row move you up a level. Master a topic at the hardest level to earn its trophy and a one-off XP bonus — every subject has its own mastery map. SMARTER STARTING ASSESSMENT: the 20-question check-in now measures every topic separately — two questions per topic, the second stepping up or down depending on the first. Practice starts each topic at its own level, and Parent Mode shows the full topic-by-topic breakdown. PARENT MODE: a new Skill Mastery view shows which topics are mastered, which are mid-climb, and suggests good next climbs based on the starting assessment. READING COMES FIRST: questions are now always read by your child rather than read aloud — reading the question well is part of what the 11+ tests. Plus question quality improvements across all four subjects.
